Fascinating guy.

A combination of National Hero for his actions in helping bring down Nixon & Co.,

and Total Nixonian Scumbag for ordering the illegal search of suspects' homes.

That was a fascinating era in US history and American politics. The Watergate hearings, the 'Saturday Night Massacre', the tapes, the resignations, the pardon... absolutely fascinating.

I felt oddly disappointed when his idenity was revealed. One of the great mysteries of the 20th century was no more. I also did not like the celebrity-style hand waving from his front door.
