Do you think she had a tan sprayed on?
Her legs were so pretty.

Posted: 4/4/05 at 10:37pmI saw the revival three times, and three times, Ms. Masterson brought tears to my eyes.

I didn't mean to take away from her performance.
She was a heartbreaker.
But those legs.......

Posted: 4/4/05 at 10:41pmWe saw a Nine matinee, and we thought she was a little meek. But, listening to the CD I have appreciated her much more.

She was the real woman among them.
Unadorned, no frills. Just real woman.

I do wish she would come back to Broadway soon! But, for now, those interested in seeing her new film "The Sisters" can buy tickets for it when it plays part in the Tribeca Film Festival from the 19th until May 1st!

Posted: 4/5/05 at 7:33ami wish i could have seen the NINE revival again. i love Chita, of course, but i was interested to see how they slightly revised the show to fit Eartha. And i wanted to see MSM again, as well as Antonio and some of the other ladies.

I didn't see any of the replacements.
Ms Lucker, Ms Kitt, Mr. Stamos.
Anyone have a review for us?

Stamos couldn't touch Antonio.
Kitt was good. Very different from Rivera.
Luker was remarkable. Far surpassed Benanti.
Sara Gettelfinger ably replaced Krakowski. Gettelfinger herself was a last minute replacement for Jenna Elfmann, who didn't make it through rehearsals.
Marni Nixon was wonderful as Guido's Mother. Not better than Mary Beth Peil, though.
MSM...goes without saying.

Thanks MEF.
I almost ran up to the stage from my fourth row aisle seat to touch Mr. Banderas.

Why didn't you?
You could've waited to grope him at the stage door, but you'd have to bitch-slap Melanie first.

I waited a long time in the April chill. It was a matinee and he chose not to come out that day. No Jane, no Chita, no MSM.
But it was a good day. I saw Gypsy that night.

Thanks MEF! Gorgeous photo.
That is one of my favorite images in a show that is packed with moments of subtle genius.
I like Butterell.

Posted: 4/5/05 at 10:27pmThe NINE revival is one of the most beautiful shows to grace Broadway in years. I miss it.

Posted: 4/5/05 at 10:35pmIt was a sad day when the NINE marquee came down at the Eugene O'Neil Theatre.

Posted: 4/5/05 at 10:37pmOne bright light, though: When the NINE marquee came down, the CAROLINE OR CHANGE marquee went up.

There's a wonderful subtlety to MSM's performance. As Glebby stated, she's the only "real" woman in Contini's life, as all the other ones are "larger than life" goddesses. And yet, there she was, looking mousy-ish with the glasses, but once they were off, yowza! And who would have thought she could sing as wonderfully well as she did?
glowing Glebby from a caliente Antonio!
