It's no secret that I'm in love with her, but I just wanted to tell everybody to read her column today.
It's hilarious and brilliant.

I'm sorry...
Maureen Dowd is a Pulitzer-Prize winning journalist. She writes a bi-weekly column for the New York Times. Her book, "Bushworld", was a best seller this past summer.

Posted: 2/3/05 at 10:13pmDon't worry Rose, you haven't missed anything. She writes a lot of liberal crap that doesn't make any sense. You're much better off reading someone like Ann Coulter.

I hope you're talking about the stunning evolution column -- the one with Adam and Eve running around Eden naming the dinosaurs. I agree, it's one of the funniest and most pointed assaults on the new dumbing down of science education in this country. (A museum opening in Kentucky that honors creationism. It sounds like a SNL skit, but apparently it's for real.)
Dowd is brilliant and fearless and thank God (the one who created the Earth in however long it took, and gave us both the T. Rex and Maureen) we have her writing. She's out there, without a net. Thanks for reminding the board.

She's a remarkable creation. She's a siren...nearly Tina Louise-like in her voluptuosness. She's breathy like Marilyn. But she has the mind and wit of a latter day Dorothy Parker. The woman is a fabulous weapon for the left. Completely and utterly feminine, but with the bite of a tiger shark.
Brava, woman! Brava!

Wow. That's a poetic interpretation of the singular genius of miss Dowd.
But I love her, too. Still haven't gotten Bush World yet but I definitely intend to.

Auggie, you know that's the column I was talking about! I was laughing so hard that I was crying, but at the same time, this frightens me. Evolution is more than just a theory-it has been accepted by almost all of the greatest scientific minds in the world. I don't want my son to learn that "God created the earth in 7 days, and that's that". My 10th grade Bio teacher, Mrs. Lenahan, would have a heart attack if she read this column.
GOD BLESS MAUREEN DOWD!
