Good answers!
Did someone already ask you what you'd show people who are visiting your city? I feel like you answered that already...if not, then answer it!

Yep Tiff - DG asked me and there is a post earlier in the thread. I can find it again if you want. But, the only thing he disagreed on was a Dodger game - but he did agree that there is some pleasant views. I can attest to seeing Mike Piazza an Eric Karros up close from behind that it is quite a worthwhile view (granted, it was a few years ago).
Beacon -
1. What was the last thing you "Googled" - I think Cutting Edge to make sure that I was not getting the movie title wrong.
2. Do you get your cats birthday presents? If so, what
were the last gifts they received from you? If not, why not? They do not get birthday presents per se - but they get so many gifts all the time, almost every day seems like their birthdays!
3. Favorite televsion law drama? I think "LA Law", because it came into popularity right when I was in school. I also really liked the first few seasons of "The Practice."
4. Favorite pizza toppings? Mushrooms and onions and bell peppers. I usually get a veggie pizza.
5. Author you wish would write more frequently? Author you wish
would "retire"? - I used to love Anne Rice for the visual images that were created when I read some of her books. I also love Ayn Rand, but she cannot write much these days. David Sedaris is also quite entertaining, and I like Barbara Kingslover. I am not rabid about any one particular author though. Who should retire, Anne Rice, because she has lost her minds and has become a joke.

Some late-night 'No Frills' Bette for our Celeb!
And I agree with you about Anne Rice - what a waste. But "Cry To Heaven" will always be one of my favorite novels.

Actually, my brain breaks a little at that thought. In a nice way. But this is about Youwantitwhen! Who is way too cool to be threadjacked.

What five people with public voices do you think are worth listening to, and why?

DG - I had that sweatshirt for years from the Concert, and literally wore it to pieces. I loved that show!
I hope you had a good time tonight.
And Marlene, to answer your questions:
What is the most randomly retard thing you've done this week? I refuse to answer on not only the grounds that it would be an admission, but that the word "retard" actually offends me.
I know that you are somehow involved in the legal profession, but are you a lawyer? Yes, I am an in-house lawyer and have been practicing law for over 10 years. I work on a varity of contract issues (software licensing, website development and hosting, customization, procurement, service agreements), litigation management, regulatory issues, and miscellaneous legal issues.
Biggest guilty pleasure - this website and purchasing too many DVDs.
Please provide for an example of how you use "Ratbastard" in everyday language. That ratbastard cut me off. Or, he's not with it, he is just a ratbastard.
If all the red wine in the world just sporadically disappeared, what you do. Learn to drink white. How else am I going to get through family dinners?
I already quoted it early - Dante's "The hottest places in Hell are reserved for those who in time of great moral crises maintain their neutrality." On a totally different front, I love Dickinson's "I felt a funeral in my brain."

Thanks everyone!
Mary, Stoli and Zorra send back a salute to your cat crew.
Well, being Jewish and all, I did not have that many.
But, since my dad converted, and my Godparents were Baptists (the drinking kind) I do have some memories of having some wonderful Christmas lunches (my paternal Grandparents lived two hours away) and some great pre-Christmas dinners at my Godparents house. At my godparents, I actually remember playing a toss game of Tic-Tac-Toe in their living room and by a roaring fire and a huge tree. The only think I miss about Christmas is not having a tree. We had a tree one year when I was a kid, and my dad pulled out this old Santa light he had from when he was a kid, but no-one felt right about it, and it did not return.
And Hannukah, meh, it is not a major holiday, so most of my family memories related to events are centered on birthdays, Thanksgiving and Passover.

How devout are you?
(That's not really a big, profound "COTD" question. I'm just making conversation. And I'm nosy.

Not very. I do not believe in organized religion per se. But, respect faith deeply. I have a hard time with the whole free will thing - you are given it, and then have to abandon it believe someone else's interpretation of a story written many, many years after the fact? I think not.
And, don't even get me on the whole G-d issue.
For some reason, even with its Pagan roots, I do not think it is right for me to have a "Holiday" tree.

Whoops, I forgot! I thought I was caught up!
David Gergen - because for someone who worked in a Republican Administration, he actually seems very balanced in his views of politics and what is going on.
Jon Stewart - just because he is funny, and calls Shenanigans on everyone! For someone who does fake news, he covers the issues better than many of those who supposedly do it for real.
Maureen Dowd - because she is brilliant and funny, and anyone who can compare what has happened under the Bush Administration to the Star Wars mythology is worth listening to.
Bill Clinton - because I think he is a brillant, but very flawed man. He may have caved on gay rights, which I think is an example of one of his flaws, but I think he does so many more right things than wrong.
Russ Feingold. I think he has the luxury of actually speaking and acting on his conscience, and is a throwback to an earlier time where politics was more about beliefs than
And, I will add honorable mentions to both Keith Olbermann and Fox News. Keith, because anyone who pisses of Bill O'Reilly as much as he does is worth listening to, and Fox, because you have to know what your opponents are doing in order to find a way to defeat them.
I would add some international flavor, but we have so many problems here, that I will show an amazing amount of Ugly Americanism and just focus on what is clearly in front of our faces.
