Welcome home, Elph - glad you made it back safely - and the sun came back just for you (although, I'm going to enjoy it, as well!)
What five people with public voices do you think are worth listening to, and why?
BTW - <---the avatar is a shot from Joshua Tree
hi Elph-are you an art or photography enthusiast? If so, do you have any favorites?
How did you first get your cat, and how long have you had the Pea?
hmmm, my first cat (on my own) was a crazed Manx named Precious (which he was NOT). He liked toppling Xmas trees.....and I got him as a stray in something like 1976.
I've had Pea since Dec 30, 1990........(good question)
Love the avatar, Elphaba.
Stoli and Zorra thank you for indulging their question.
Enjoy your day Elphaba!

E, what was your favorite restaurant in Chicago?
oh DG, tough one.
What five people with public voices do you think are worth listening to, and why?
I may include some deceased, as you didn't say I couldn't.
John F. Kennedy-He moved a nation, and started (in my opinion) the very beginnings of the Fall of the Berling Wall.
Martin Luther King Jr- In my opinion a Messiah of Human Rights
Harvey Milk- perhaps this says it best: After Harvey Milk became the first openly gay man elected to any substantial political office in the history of the planet, thousands of astounded people wrote to him. "I thank God," wrote a 68-year-old lesbian, "I have lived long enough to see my kind emerge from the shadows and join the human race."
Hilary Clinton- go ahead, slap me, but I love her honesty, her gutsy approach, and her no-nonsense way.
Anne Frank- can a writer have a public voice? She was the voice of the atrocities, she moved millions.
brd, Zum Deutschen Eck on Lincoln, now gone...Waaa

Excellent, Elph I need to re-word the question - Craig asked similar questions that made me change the parameters, and I just haven't adjusted the question! Martin, Harvey and Anne are three of my idols.
Jane,
are you an art or photography enthusiast? If so, do you have any favorites
Art! My favorites are Frank Lloyd Wright, Titian, H. Bosch, Edvard Munch, Dale Chihuly, Fabrege, Jan van Eyck, Delacroix, Georges de la Tour, Albrecht Durer, and so many more!
Good answer, Elph-why? because your choices are pretty focused and they give a clear picture (pun intended) on your artistic taste. thanks!
Congrats Elphaba!
If you could be anyone you wanted to be today, who would you be, and what would you do?
If we asked an important person in your life to describe you, what would he or she say? How accurate would it be?
What’s something that you’ve never done, but have always wanted to try?
What’s the last “great” gift that you gave someone? That you were given?
pattifan, why you of course, darling....you, Hyacinth and Moi!
someone asked, and I can't find the post, so don't know who.....if I could talk to one historical figure and ask a question who would it be, and what would I ask.
The person would be Hitler
The question would be "why?"

a leather tux,
I gotta ask the hard hitting questions since Larry King doesn't!
That's a fantastic quote. And Newfoundland has got to have some of the most remarkable and awesome (in the literal sense of the word) natural beauty in North America. Especially if you go to Gros Morne National Park...absolutely stunning.
But really, you had me at "leather tux". Especially if you meant to add, "with a purple fur trim and and a fedora".

What is one international crisis or cause that you feel passionately about?
The AIDS crisis in Africa....people seem not to care since it's Africa, and that burns me up
And what event in your life has changed a previous outlook or philosophy?
hmmm, when both my parents within 2yrs of each other had major health issues.......I realized then that they would not live forever.....and that hurt.
