Congratulations, Chloe!
If you don't mind a few lines of gratuitous flattery, I'd like to say that I think you are a wonderful presence on the Adam Pascal threads. When you're not feeding us with information, you're making intelligent, insightful and thought-provoking comments. When you're not doing that, you're listening carefully to (well, reading) everyone's posts and offering comments and advice. You give the thread a great deal of maturity and sophistication, but never, ever condescend. Thank you for being such a great poster.
On to questions:
- If Adam Pascal offered to give you a private concert (slim chances don't necessarily mean nonexistent! ), what would you want him to sing?
- What's your favorite classic musical?
- Favorite straight play?
- In general, do you prefer comedy or tragedy?
- You mentioned that you read Agatha Christie. Do you have a favorite of her books? Miss Marple or Hercule Poirot?
And finally, something silly: Which of Adam Pascal's outfits do you find the most...er...memorable?
Zyla, you're very, very kind. Thank you so much!
- If Adam Pascal offered to give you a private concert (slim chances don't necessarily mean nonexistent! ), what would you want him to sing?
"Cellophane Sun" would be my top request.
- What's your favorite classic musical?
Probably West Side Story, if that qualifies as classic.
- Favorite straight play?
I saw an English company do Hamlet when I was a pre-teen, and it left a huge impression on me. That will always be my favorite.
- In general, do you prefer comedy or tragedy?
When I was young I preferred tragedy, but as I get older comedy gets more and more attractive.
- You mentioned that you read Agatha Christie. Do you have a favorite of her books? Miss Marple or Hercule Poirot?
I think Murder in Retrospect (with Poirot) is one of her best. Overall I prefer Miss Marple though.
And finally, something silly: Which of Adam Pascal's outfits do you find the most...er...memorable?
The words "Adam Pascal" and "outfits" just automatically conjure up the sparkly pants, don't they? But I think he looks great in a T-shirt and jeans.
Thank you for your answers, Chloe. It's been nice becoming acquainted with you...
And thank you for your interesting questions. I feel like I'm becoming a little better acquainted with myself as well.
Aww.
What makes you a cat person, instead of a dog person?
I grew up with both cats and dogs and like dogs as well, but the independence and varied personalities of cats have won me over.
I don't have a question, but a musing...
D'you remember when we were the only two Billy Elliot the Musical fans on the board!!??
Good times!
CONGRATS!
Oh yes, I remember! Do you think you'll be able to see it when it comes to Broadway?
hopefully. that would be good.
ok, question:
pick and explain:
Cabaret or Fiddler
That's kind of a tough choice, but I think I'd go with Cabaret, especially if we're comparing the two recent revivals. Cabaret is more sophisticated and multi-layered and just seems better put together in general. I'm something of a sentimental slob, though, and Fiddler can tug at the heart strings.
I agree with you!
Though, in the recent revival, when the daughter who wants to marry the Russian tells Tevye, who says no, and the company dances between them singing Tradition.
DAMN! I was sobbing!
Aw, I think you're even more sentimental than I am, though The Letter from BE still makes me well up every time I listen to it.
Congrats Chloe! You deserve it. I echo everything that Zyla said, and add an extra thanks for your patience with my *many* computer problems.
Questions...
You've mentioned you like the direction that Adam Pascal's going in his music. How would you articulate the change, and what do you like about it? [can you tell I've been busy writing open-ended questions for lit class?]
How did you get to go the Rent symphony space Q&A? Was it awesome?
What gave you a love of theater?
I cried during The History Boys. I'm incredibly weepy.
I cried at the WRONG part of The History Boys, that's what makes it awful.
Thanks, Ariella, you're very welcome.
You've mentioned you like the direction that Adam Pascal's going in his music. How would you articulate the change, and what do you like about it?
I feel that his songs are becoming more and more personal and expressive of what's inside him, and less reliant on his influences. This makes for better songs and ones he performs with a great deal of passion.
How did you get to go the Rent symphony space Q&A? Was it awesome?
It was a benefit for Friends in Deed, so it was just a matter of coming up with the cash before it sold out. There was a screening of Rent first, and the Q&A came after. It was very enjoyable - much funnier than I expected.
What gave you a love of theater?
I'm really not sure. I've been attracted to the performing arts my whole life but can't pinpoint where that comes from. I did a little bit of theater in school, but never had a real ambition to perform myself. I just don't know.
CQTB, I didn't see The History Boys, but please describe what the wrong place to cry in it was. When I saw the original production of Noises Off here I was laughing so hard that I started to cry, but I don't think that's what you mean.
(In fact I was laughing so hard I thought I would literally fall into the aisle.)
I cried when the lights went down because I knew that, in a little less than three hours, it would all be over.
pathetic, huh?
I don't have any interesting/intriguing questions for you, but I just wanted to say congratulations on your day! Can't wait to meet you next month!
Just popping in to say Yay, Chloe!
CQTB, that's kind of sweet. I hope the show lived up to your expectations.
Skittles, thanks, I'm really looking forward to it too.
Rath - thank you! It's been fun.
it was everything, and more. EVEN with Jamie, Richard, Clive and Frances out!
I cried at the end too, but that was at the right time
For the next Celebrity of the Day, I nominate Caroline-Q-or-TBoo, a true theater fan and very nice guy.

My "new usual" questions:
What is your favorite role you'd one day like to play (soon as you get cast on Broadway)?
Which is your favorite Broadway songwriter/songwriter team?
What do you do first when you wake up in the morning? ("getting up" doesn't count)
If you were given the power, which past Broadway production would you undo so it never could have happened?
Enjoy your day!
Yay :)
CONGRATS sweetie..here's your crown for the day..Chloe wouldn't give it up easily.
and my questions...
1) What Inspires you?
2) If you could spend the day with 1 person (dead or alive) who would it be and what would you talk about?
3) If you were putting together a scrapbook of your life...what would you include in it?
