I don't think Mamie (or any of us) want to hear how 'chilly' it is in ORLANDO!
or about those damn cows !!!!
But can we TALK about Annette's jugs while we wait for Mamie?
We can keep talking about the wonderful, kind and funny Mamie!

Let's have the Cherry Blossom Festival early this year, just for Mamie!
She better drag her ascot here soon...or there will be no more champagne! Who does she think she is?
I've got a bottle on ice for her!
Congratulations, MAMIE!
Well deserved.

Let not my love be called idolatry,
Nor my beloved as an idol show,
Since all alike my songs and praises be
To one, of one, still such, and ever so.
Kind is my love to-day, to-morrow kind,
Still constant in a wondrous excellence;
Therefore my verse to constancy confined,
One thing expressing, leaves out difference.
Fair, kind, and true, is all my argument,
Fair, kind, and true, varying to other words;
And in this change is my invention spent,
Three themes in one, which wondrous scope affords.
Fair, kind, and true, have often lived alone,
Which three till now, never kept seat in one.
Dottie to Mamie...come in Mamie....Mamie?
I already had some questions that I worked on during my walk to work, but I'll wait for you to sign on.
Holy cow! What an absolutely incredibly WONDERFUL surprise to find this morning! This is honestly the last thing I ever expected and to have it come from Dottie and to hear so many wonderful accolades from people I've learned to love .....
Well, it's just too much! I am truly thrilled and truly humbled.
It's going to take a while to come up with some of the answers to these great questions - so please bear with me. On top of that, I have to go out and do some 'first of the month shopping'. You do that when you're retired and only get a check once a month. My baby cat won't get breakfast tomorrow if I put it off!
An easy one to answer is the crooner question. It would be Frank Sinatra and he would be singing "All the Way". When I was a whole lot younger than I am today, my dad took 6 weeks of leave from work and drove the family across country. He wanted to see as much of it as possible so we drove all over the place, up and down, both going and coming from California. I think we ended up visiting almost 30 states on this wonderful trip.
We discovered something wonderful in each state that they could boast about. We were warned however about Kansas. "It's flat and dull with nothing but farms wherever you look". Well it was afternoon when we entered Kansas and I had fallen asleep in the back seat of the car. When I woke up, I could see blue sky and white fluffy clouds out the window. I sat up and looked out at the most beautiful sight I'd yet seen on the trip. We were surrounded by miles of wheat fields. The wheat was tall and golden colored. There was a breeze blowing across the fields and making the wheat move like waves on the ocean. Scattered here and there in the distance were oil derricks supporting working pumps. These moved up and down in a slow motion that made you think of a giant's teeter totter. The 'amber waves of grain' (VERY true), the arms of the pumps moving slowly up and down, the vivid blue sky scattered with fluffy snow white clouds, moving in the breeze...... and all of it accompanied by Frank Sinatra on the radio, singing "All the Way". No Broadway choreographer could have come close to this perfection of movement.
A few years ago I participated in a bio-feedback study and proved that I could control my own blood pressure. I did this by closing my eyes and transporting myself back to that gorgeous place in Kansas - with Frank crooning away.
OK - sorry for the mini-novel. I'll work on the others and again - THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!
