Posted: 2/17/06 at 12:23pmywiw, knowing what i know now, bush. oh there's lotsa things i would have changed, but the one i struggle with the most and go back and forth on is disbanding the iraqi army. i mean yeah it was lousy with sunni/ba'ath officers, but maybe with a purge of officers it would have been better able to help bring a sense of control. on the other hand, it was a symbol of the ruthless power saddam wielded over his people and the horros that were visited upon them under his rule. would the general populace trust an american invasion that didn't disband the army (not that trust is a strong suit over there anyway)?

i felt an angel on my shoulder driving back to nyc on route 80 when i realized too late that the traffic about 75 yards ahead of me was not slowing down, but had in fact stopped and that i was going 70 on nothing but ice. he had a distinct grimace.

i'm torn, addy between a cabana on the hawaiian beach miles from anyone for a month with just me, mrs. mambo and plenty of fresh fish and cold beer or southern utah in late spring. but since we did the utah thing, i'll go with the beach.
