the mrs. prefers taylor rain.
Ice cream break, anyone?
papa, what brought you to BWW, and how did you find the Off-Topic board?
addy, i'd worked on a show where the producers were reading message boards and trying to get the production team to incorporate the suggestions from posters into the show. i'd never really heard of message boards at that time so when the next show came up, i kinda surfed the net a bit and found atc and bww. atc did nothing for me. way to stodgy for my tastes. but bww, was just right.
i was here before the ot board existed, back in the dark days of brawling over too many off topic posts on the main board (when you had to include the dreaded "ot" in the topic line or be lashed), the shill (or as i prefer, shrill) hunts, etc. so when rob and craig made an ot board i gravitated over here. i still read the main board and sometimes even post there, but for the last almost year i was out of the broadway scene and so i was pretty much a creature of the ot board. now that i'm back in town, i am a bit more involved in that "other" board.

oh. my. god. marc, i knew you were a prince among men, but damn.
dg, they employ a lot of people and put a decent product on the stage. they hit one out of the park with lion king and they might do it again with tarzan by handing a brilliantly creative person sh*tloads of cash and freedom to create. how many actors are working for good money on equity disney productions? how many technicians? all of those tours plus worldwide productions? disney's a boon to broadway and to those who work on broadway and to the theatres with expensive renovations around the country that were done to fit disney tours. they're one producer. broadway can certainly manage them and a host of others.
Papa..what is your favorite song of all time and why?
Papa: Any productions in the upcoming spring theatre season you may be looking forward to?
boobs, like a hurricane by neil young. the version on live rust. power, passion, big f***ing power chords and the lines "once i thought i saw you, in a crowded hazy bar, dancing on the light from star to star."
cookie, i haven't had a chance to really peruse the upcoming season yet.
ok, kiddos, time to go drink a bit, i'll be home later to answer your questions.
I knew there was a reason I felt drawn back to the site today. Yay! Papa's my board mentor. I lurve him. So does the Attorney General.
God help us, an entire weekend of Papa in the soptlight. What can we expect next? A pox that will kill the first born of every household? A plague of locust? How long before we know who will be left behind?
Ok, a few questions for the great man:
Papa, is it true that you are one of the few who know the real story behind Cheney's premature trigger finger?
What was the first thing you did upon returning to NY?
Spanish, Italian or Swedish?
How do I get to be as ultra cool as you?
Will you be my personal hero?

How can "the sane Republican' not be a celebrity eventually? :) papalovesmambo, plenty of people here could take lessons from you on how to get along with people you disagree with and respect the opinions of others. Congrats.
felicitations, papa!
i've started reading through everyone's posts, and i've encountered st. michael and perry como right off! oh papa, i am so glad you are going to be with us the whole 3 day weekend, because i have a lot of reading to do. it's fascinating stuff!
i applaud your courage for coming out on this board. i mean as a republican. it couldn't have been easy. i am going to love this weekend.

papa, firstly, how is the lovely Mrs. Mambo? Please send my regards to her.
Secondly, would you state your philosophy of life in one sentence, please.
Thirdly, the baby has grown so much, and is adorable. I have spoken with the adoptive family as you and Vish asked (you recall they are a gay couple who are good friends of ours) and they would be willing to allow you both to visit the baby sometime. Would you like that?
Lastly, what teacher had the most personal impact on your life and why?
ck, nice of you to join us.
orion, yes. i went to the theatre that we're working at and cursed out the crew. just on general principles. spanish, i hate the swedes and i was almost italian by marriage. it takes years of careful and persistent practice. yes.
jose, mrs. mambo is fine and says hello. it's gotta be the golden rule, right? do unto others before they do unto you. i have no idea what you are talking about unless vish has been at the brown acid again. my freshman english teacher who taught me how to write and how to love writing.
mominator, i'm having a whale of a time!
Congrats papalovesmambo. Great posts.....and avatars.
undi, it's tough to concentrate with your hand down my pants, but i have always preferred numbered chapter titles to named ones so i'll go with roman numerals in multiples of 100.
all right, but i contend that if the book ends up being written it'll be with roman numerals.
