You'll have to ask her that.
(GG - say no. You don't need any more itches)

Posted: 1/19/06 at 10:53ami hope DG brings cupcakes again!! or something equally fab. i go to a diner on b'way for brunch on sundays and i always have to sit in view of the massive rotating cakes and pies. it's a carousel of freakish delight for me. it's fellini in a case.

perfect day. i love london, i love anguilla, i love hilton head -- but i have to say that i'm always happiest on w. 79th street-- right at home. whatever happens, the perfect day emerges from the idea that there is enough time, and that where one is in the present is where one is meant to be. my birthday last november was stunning -- so i will say this was a perfect day. the night before, halloween, we had a prix fix at the 4 seasons (in the pool room. not as ritzy as the grill room but i prefer the sound of the water to the cache) mojitos to begin and a wonderful 3 course meal in near seclusion. the place was entirely empty until the end of the meail. i had some sort of tuna tar tar first course and then a fantastic duck breast carved at the table -- and then for dessert my beloved had called ahead to order some of the legendary cotton candy with sugared violets. they brought it out with a candle. enormous. it looked like a louis quinze wig sans the model sailboat. i was THRILLED. then we walked cross town to sweeney todd -- fifth row. the theater was buzzing as it was the perfect place to be on HALLOWEEN!! i sat next to jose from SPELLING BEE -- who is quite handsome out of his cub scout drag. afterwards, we walked to the mandarin oriental and had drinks in the 35th floor lobby bar--right by the window. columbus circle has been re-done and from above reminds me of rome, so romantic. then we went outside and kissed at midnight and flagged a cab home. the next day, my actual b-day, i had a facial and message at exhale and then was treated to dinner at DANIEL (which was waaay too fussy for me) remember, i slept in a bunk bed for 5 years -- this place just didn't strike me as authentic. ***EDIT*** moguls with escorts as far as the eye could see. (instead of petit four they give out the tiny blue pill with the espresso) for a PERFECT meal i would have gone to CHANTERELLE. or TABLA. i was just wasted afterwards and went home to bed.

". . . where one is in the present is where one is meant to be."
Absolutely nothing else you could say today or ever could bind my heart to you as much as this did.

Posted: 1/19/06 at 11:21ama perfect meal is comprised of any number of elements. i remember a turkey burger when i was FAMISHED that tasted like nirvana. i prefer having a bunch of friends around a table with a **** load of indian food -- preferably at DIMPLE on 30th street. it's a hole in the wall, but typical Mumbai. best cheap vegetarian in the city.

Congrats GG! The very fact that you started a Ann Hampton Callaway/Liz Callaway as Elphaba/Galinda thread makes me think you deserve this honor.
I think I need to go look up that thread now...

Posted: 1/19/06 at 11:38amI like this thread. It's 'Queen For A Day', just like the TV show. Most of us are too young to remember it, but i've seen clips!

most of the bush administration would be investigated, prosecuted and their accumulated wealth put into mid-cap growth funds for the education of lower and middle income americans. get the drug companies out of africa and get those people the help they deserve. healthcare for everyone. i would do whatever i could to put real money in the hands of more people, rather than more money in the hands of fewer people. that would be day one.
***an end to the corp-ocracy -- we have a bogus theocracy -- that's a set up. it's the opiate so we won't notice that companies are running everything now.

I agree, GG, which is why I generally refer to 'The Corporate States of America'.
