Someone else will have to answer that. I only watched bits and pieces, then I had to go eat chocolate and drink brandy.

I would say that USA Today speaks to the lowest common populist denominator - whatever that is these days. Mr. Moore was given a column simply because it would generate paper sales - certainly not to promote any kind of agenda.

Remember, folks, Michael Moore never claimed to be a journalist. He's a filmmaker with a point of view. He supports his POV, but doesn't owe anyone anything but what he feels. Love him or hate him, he's not obligated to be "unbiased." Like, uh, say ... the always unbiased Fox.

goldberg came after they canned ann coulter from covering the convention after her first column which you can read it here (usa today opted not to print it, i can't imagine why):

Whatever happened to class????

It is customary for a man to remove his hat when he enters a building. Why is he wearing that cap?
If anyone ever tells you that you put too much Parmesan cheese on your pasta, stop talking to them. You don't need that kind of negativity in your life.

well, booing someone isn't exactly classy, either...

Wasn't Michael Moore surgically attached to his cap? What can he do about it??
#37

re: michael moore at rnc

I think taking the hat off when entering a building went out sometime in the early 70's. And the backwards-worn caps sealed the deal.

(An observation, not an agreement.)

Maybe they can get the same doctor who constantly has to get Bush's foot out of his mouth.

re: michael moore at rnc

You know what. I find Moore's brand of filmmaking, with all of its propoganda and partisan views right out in the open and no apologies, far less insidious than, say, Forrest Gump.

1. You can be a complete idiot, but as long as you're white and male, you can make it in America.

2. If you are a woman and dabble even just a little bit in the counterculture...you gonna die 'o AIDS.

3. The only person dumber than Forrest Gump? That's right...the black man.

It churned my stomach.

re: michael moore at rnc

hah, i will defend mrs. mambo's favorite movie even though i do not feel strongly about it other than liking the fact that it used bedford's name.

1. you can be a complete idiot, but as long as you're white and male, you can make it in america.

you have left out the fact that he was fast as the wind (which got him his football scholarship) and was a whiz bang ping pong star (which staked him to his start in the shrimping business along with the reply to #3)

2. if you are a woman and dabble even just a little bit in the counterculture...you gonna die 'o aids.

mainlining smack is doing a bit more than dabbling. it also pointed out that aids in the us grew through intravenous drug usage not just sex.

3. the only person dumber than forrest gump? that's right...the black man.

this i categorically deny. please remember that it was bubba who had figured out the entire plan for the shrimp boat. had he not shared that information with forrest, there would have been no bubba gump shrimp comp'ny. foorrest merely implemented a plan that had been devised by bubba.

re: michael moore at rnc

There aren't that many needle exchange programs, alas. The Republicans aren't big fans.

So what do all our progressive Republicans think about the fact that the platform not only says "No" to gay marriage (big shock) but also to civil unions?

Just wonderin'.

And also, DGrant: "One and one CAN be made to APPEAR to equal three - but that obviously doesn't make it so."

Could you show me how that can be done?
