If they're booing him they're giving him exactly what he wants. If they'd ignored him he would have had a nervous breakdown.

I know that. It was just funny that moment.

Of course Moore wasn't going to break down and start crying, either way.

re: michael moore at rnc

Sorry, Canadian news isn't covering this much. What did Michael Moore do at the RNC?

re: michael moore at rnc

Must've been from too much Mickey D's. He's been so busy shilling his own documentary that he didn't have time to watch the superior one of the year - Super Size Me.

re: michael moore at rnc

maybe, maybe not

But how much money has Super made compared to F9/11? How many people have seen F9/11? How many more will see it on video?

You can slam Moore all you want--the man is on top of his game. He has exposed this administration, like it or not.

re: michael moore at rnc

LOL. I just think it's funny that the USA today gave him the press credentials. I don't read it, but I will now.
By the way, funniest sight so far: tonight, walking home. ONe of those "Save the rainforest" guys was duking it out with an actual delegate to the convention. That was fun times.

re: michael moore at rnc

Really, can someone tell me what happened at the RNC with Michael Moore?

I agree that Michael Moore raises a lot of good points, and I enjoyed both Bowling For Columbine and F9/11. My only issue is that Moore loses some credibility by fabricating or re-enacting/distorting scenes and images to suit his opinions, instead of at least expressing Bush's point of view and refuting it logically. It's a shame too, because I think he's got some important points to make, but is going about the wrong way to make them.

re: michael moore at rnc

jrb - if I followed you around for just one day with a camera, and then interviewd a few people around you, I could put together a montage that absolutely painted a portrait of you as a hustler - or worse, a Republican. Just because the facts individually are verifiable doesn't mean the presentation as a whole has merit as the truth. One and one CAN be made to APPEAR to equal three - but that obviously doesn't make it so.

re: michael moore at rnc

I support Mr. Moore, and loved F 9/11, but if you want the real facts on the war in Iraq in a film package, and a movie to scare the sh*t out of you, you must see Uncovered: The Whole Truth About the Iraq War. It puts real facts out there in a plain form. It's not confusing like 9/11, nor does it distort facts or display propaganda. It doesn't rely on emotional impact (Moore's film was clearly aiming to be a tearjerker) and isn't biased in any way. This film is astounding, and puts Moore to shame. I cannot recommend it enough.

And thanks DGrant, you said what I wanted to, except you got there before me.

re: michael moore at rnc

Butt aren't some of his facts distorted, exaggerated or taken out of context to suit his own opinions? I can't say this with absolute certainty, although there are more than a few examples from BF and 9/11 where it seems this has happened.

I'm not against Michael Moore at all, but like all "documentaries", it's got to be taken with a certain grain of sensationalized and biased salt.

re: michael moore at rnc

Type A Tiff, Michael Moore has press credentials from USA Today. He was sitting in his press booth when John McCain mentions his film-making in his speech. The audience starts to boo and point at him. Michael smiles and waves, bobs his hat. Later in an interview he said he was surprised to hear John McCain promote his movie, they were just shy of $120 million but he thought McCain might have put them over. Silly, probably. He didn't look particularly uncomfortable while he was being booed. And really, although his column is probably a press stunt by USA Today, he WAS just sitting there when John McCain brought attention to him.

re: michael moore at rnc

Does USA Today tend to be a fairly left-leaning paper?

Stupid of McCain to accidentally promote 9/11 like that. Did Michael Moore actually go into the crowd, interact with anyone?

Someone else will have to answer that. I only watched bits and pieces, then I had to go eat chocolate and drink brandy.
