I can't believe all the pearl clutching going on in the comments section there as though Musto is a serious journalist. If you find Musto's humor a bit dated, that's one thing, but to take his column this seriously is just silly. Anyway, this made me laugh:

The biggest complaint I had about his article is that it should be a checklist of "how many" because I doubt I know any guys who are only one of those 12 "types".

This is no way a gay-centric trait. This is really a modern social behavior issue, not a gay one. And a number of the others on his list are marginally exclusive to the gay community. With a slight tweaking of the descriptions they become universal.
Straight people who travel abroad and don't take advantage of the culture has been an "Ugly American" stereotype for decades.
