As a follower of college football, this is big. Congrats to him, if he makes it to the NFL he'd be the first openly gay player. Rooting for him!

Oprah's interviewing Michael Sam. Apparently, "a few" gay active NFL players reached out to him. Wonder if one of them will have the courage to come out in the near future.

I think so, sooner than later, every day good things happen. There are certainly a large percentage of gay football players, not that I know personally, but it just makes sense. There are probably an equal number of gay people in the NFL as in the rest of society, which if you think about it, could comprise three teams entirely of gay football players.
