Michigan Assistant Attorney General conducts vendetta against 19 year old college student

This story is so bizarre I can't help but wonder where it's going to end up leading.

"University alum Andrew Shirvell has been actively speaking out against Michigan Student Assembly President Chris Armstrong since shortly after his election in March. Shirvell has periodically appeared at various campus events to protest Armstrong's presidency. He also maintains a controversial blog called “Chris Armstrong Watch,” where he criticizes what he calls the MSA president’s “radical homosexual agenda.”

Officials at the Attorney General’s office confirmed that Shirvell works for Cox and that they are aware of his public disapproval of Armstrong, including the blog. Officials also said on Wednesday that they would provide The Michigan Daily with a statement on the issue, but despite several follow-up inquiries over four business days, a statement was never received....
Other blog posts have been entitled “Chris Armstrong: The PRIVILEGED Pervert” and “Chris Armstrong & His Bullhorn: Portrait of a Radical Homosexual Activist at Work.”

You kind of have to read it to believe it.

"Hate to be so late to this, but Andrew Shirvell is one of the principle reasons I refused to back Mike Cox in the race. I knew him back in U of M. That's where he knows Justin Wilson from. He has ALWAYS been this crazy. He actually had an assault conviction back at U of M, and people took out PPOs against him. What you've seen is the tip of the iceberg. My hope is that with Cox's defeat in the primaries Shirvell's career is done. My fear is that he will sign on to another campaign."

I loved Anderson's whole cadence. "On the right is a young man named Chris Armstrong who is the object... of Mr. Shirvell's considerable attention." You know he wanted to say something else.

He looks like a total fool devoting his life to the character assassination of a college kid.

It's absurd, pathological, and not a little bit scary.

I hope Armstrong has a restraining order and sues for libel.
