The interesting thing about that exchange though was that most of my cousins shortly after admitted that they had dropped out of the church as well.Including two of Aunt Saint's kids.
I'm still the only gay cousin. (Well, the only openly gay cousin. I have my suspicions about a couple of 'em.)

As for what grade I as in, I was confirmed May of my Freshman year in High School. We had 54 kids in our confirmation class.
I remember most of what I learned in CCD and all that I learned from my Godmother. It's not hard to remember what we learned though, after all those years of catholic school (I spent middle and high school in public school) and still being a very active part of my church today (I sing in the choir and help my godmother lead the youth choir).

D2, there are times I think we're the same person living different lives, based on the simple choice of urban or rural living!

Anyway, getting back on track. I absolutely looked forward to making my confirmation. It represented a lot to me.... both in the religious aspect of my life and my life in general. I know so many people who loathed the entire process of confirmation. Hated the pomp and circumstance of it and to this day, remember VERY little (aside from the gifts they got). It's such a foreign thought to me. I look back on it with fond memories and my sponsor/godmother is still a very big part of my life today.

In retrospect, I sorta wish I'd gone with Mary.

I absolutely got off easy on Confirmation, but for the most part I can still recite all the prayers from the Rosary, name all the Sacrements and some of the other random Catholic-y things. When I get dragged to Mass, though, I don't take Communion--I might not believe in Catholicism but I don't want to mock i, I'm nowhere near pure enough to receive the Body of Christ.

I feel left out.
I'll just tell everyone that mine was "Midge."
That's MUCH better.
