I just found out that a friend of mine has the same middle name as all 5 of his brothers. And it is a WOMAN'S name! (Well, Leslie, so I guess technically it is androgynous) but I found that so odd. Why would you give all your kids the same middle name, especially, as in this case, it is not even a FAMILY name?
Now my family tradition is that the first born has the father or mother's first name as their middle name, which I find sweet.
Do you all have middle names? Or funny stories about them?

My middle name is my father's first name, my sister's middle name is my mother's first name, and my brother's middle name is the same as my father's middle name.
had i been a girl my middle name would have been the feminization of my current Middle name. (michael)

My mother's middle name is a man's name: Gene. It's her late uncle's first name. Why they didn't just call her Jean, I don't know. But she pretty much uses her maiden name as a middle name now.
My middle name is also my father's middle name, and it was the very bizarre last name of a family friend. I used to be embarrassed by it, but now I kinda like its uniqueness, especially since both my first and last names are common.
eta: Michaela? I've known of a few girls named Mike, actually. Well, just one personally, and one on television.

Neither my sister nor I were given middle names, but my brothers were.
As a result, I have given my children two middle names each!

All six of us have unique middle names. My parents just liked them.
You just keep trying to mess those kids up, don't you, Penny?
Sue, you'll LOVE this: one of my son's middle names is my sister's first name!!!
Miss P, I think having two middle names is very classy and upscale.
Of course, my parents didn't even give me one, so I might be biased the other way.
Hm, I don't think there's any rhyme or reason to my middle name, which is Madeleine. My parents just wanted me to have an incredibly French name.

Penny, please tell me it is not Nellie! Well, as long as he doesn't have "III" at the end he should be okay.
Rath,I thought Rathnait was your middle name.

Poor Rath. Literally, apparently.
Sue, your stalking is slipping! I know you know how to do a search. It IS my middle name, but my parents didn't give it to me.
your name is Jane Jane?
Sue, it isn't Nellie (which really makes me laugh because there's a girl in his kindergarten class named Nllie who actually told my husband, "I am in love with your son.")
And just to show you how gender-appropriate I can be, I gave my son the "masculine" spelling of my sister's name so if he ever travels to Russia, he'll seem positively butch.

I think "Jane Jane" would be kind of incredbile. Like "Jack Jack" in The, erm, Incredibles.
Yes Doodle, it's actually Jane janey-waney Jane.

I know, I forgot my garters this morning!
Did you give yourself your own middle name? Did you have it done legally or just decide one day that was it?
And if you didn't have a middle name, what did your mother call you when she was really pissed off?
