I tell you, she was coached by the former Miss Teen South Carolina!
And what was with the contestant working her gown (the hideous looking thing with the huge slit that looked like a bathing suit wrap)?!

I think it was Jeanie Mai that kept saying, "look at her work her dress" repeatedly. The more she worked the gown, the more foolish the contestant looked.
Gowns - I liked Texas and Alabama.

Posted: 6/17/13 at 6:40pmI just get really tired of the media focusing on the woman who gave the stupid answer instead of the woman who actually won! Miss Connecticut is very smart and well-spoken. She and Illinois were my favorites. I judged a Miss America preliminary last December and as a judge- you don't have a lot of time to score. I not only paid attention to the answer of the questions asked, I also watched posture, body language, and confidence. Still- I would have given Utah the lowest score and then Alabama- based on their final answers and stumbling.
