I've watched Mr. Roger's the past two days and there has been heavy focus on characters "growing up as they should" and becoming "what they were supposed to be".
A song yesterday had the lyrics:
Only boys can be daddies
and only girls can be mommies
Bla bla bla it was just extremely constricting when it came to gender roles and it struck me as odd to see this on Mr. Rogers.

Mr. Rogers: Girl babies don't turn into boy babies. And boy babies don't turn into girl babies.
Maybe I'm overanalyzing.

There's no apostrophe in Rogers, for one thing.
And then how does one explain Lady Elaine?
Lady Elaine always scared me.
I was scared of the cat who needed a translator.
Henrietta? Yeah she was also kinda spooky. I was a fan of Daniel Stripped Tiger!!
Ya wanna know how gay I am?
At six years old, I was watching the Neighborhood, and when Lady Elaine Fairchild showed up, I actually thought to myself, 'Of course her name is Lady Elaine. She looks JUST like Elaine Stritch.'
At six years old.
True story.
My dear, that amount of gayness is unmeasurable. Elaine Stritch was just Rudy Huxtable's teacher to me until I reached puberty.
Lady Aberlin was my first crush.

When Mr Rogers died, I wanted to inherit his sweater and shoes.
