U.S. military continues to discharge gay Arab linguists, and Congress members seek hearing...

Lawmakers who say the military has kicked out 58 Arabic linguists because they were gay want the Pentagon to explain how it can afford to let the valuable language specialists go.

Seizing on the latest discharges, involving three specialists, members of the House of Representatives wrote the House Armed Services Committee chairman that the continued loss of such "capable, highly skilled Arabic linguists continues to compromise our national security during time of war."

What kills me is the idea that the armed forces have no problems relaxing their rules regarding gang members and criminals entering the ranks, but take a hard (tee hee) line when it comes to gay soldiers. Since the Supreme Court effectively struck down sodomy laws in this country, decriminalizing same-sex sex, what exactly is the point of Don't Ask, Don't Tell?

Why does this surprise anyone? Just more of the same....funny, when people were being rescued and pulled out of the rubble of 9/11, do you think they stopped the firemen and police to ask if they were gay before they accepted their help?

Arabic languages are HORRIBLY difficult to learn. They should be paying these people in gold, not getting rid of them. It'll come back to bite them on the rear one day, no doubt. America is going down on a greased hill and our own government is going out of their way to hasten the end.

The very fact that discrimination is freely practiced in nation supposedly so adamant in providing "freedom" is absurd. Our soldiers fight along side plenty of openly gay allies.

Just another example of what bull**** this War On Terror is. Ignore the words and look at the actions--a list a mile long of things that indicate they are NOT seriously trying to stop terrorism.
