Have you seen Ken Russell's film of The Who's TOMMY? n You haven't lived until you've seen Ann-Margaret in a white pants suit, on a white circular bed, writhing around in baked beans and chocolate syrup.
And she got an Oscar nomination for that?
The end all and be all is, Frank Zappa's 200 Motels. I can't even begin to explain it on here. But watch it, it will blow your mind (whether you're high or not)

I was actually going to say Tommy...SOOO weird. When our director announced that we were doing the musical we rented the movie and were not happy (to say the least) that we were doing that musical! It turned out to be amazing though
All That Jazz. It kind of made my brain hurt (albiet in a good way).
Charlie & the Chocolate Factory.
All That Jazz is more existential than psychedelic.
Then I take out "All That Jazz" and replace it with "Magical Mystery Tour."
"The Trip" - starred Peter Fonda and I think it was written by Jack Nicholson. It takes you along with a fellow (Fonda) going on his first acid trip.
(Don't hate me - but I loved it)
Magical Mystery Tour....AWESOME, i can't believe I didn't think of that one.
Cockwork Orange
Liquid Sky
My dad was a big Beatles fan when I was growing up, so I used to watch "Magical Mystery Tour" with him and my little brother. It wasn't until I got older that I realized just how much of a psychadelic trip it really was.
"Alice in Wonderland" should probably get a mention as well.
Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas I think fits nicely into this catagory too.
And yeah Kitz, my mom is a huge Beatles fan so I grew up on all of that. Yellow Submarine is great for a kid cause all of the drug references and the like go right over their head and the story and drawings just entertain them. And then when you re watch it as an adult you're like "ohhhhhhh I see..."
HEAD by The Monkees.
SPICEWORLD...I could have sworn I was drunk, or stoned, or asleep when I watched that piece of sh!t movie. Or was that the way they wanted it to turn out?

The original Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory and, to a degree, the new one as well.
The Nightmare Before Christmas, however, is BEYOND psychedelic
definitely TOMMY.
This local cult movie called "Rachel's Attic." Imagine a Monica Lewinsky look-a-like entering a world of S&M, in which she dresses up as Alice in Wonderland, is chased by a gigantic rabbit (THE creepiest costume I've ever seen), and then is almost killed by a woman (or is it a man?) in chains and spikes in a cage. Crazy ****.
Waking Life made me pretty dizzy in theatres. Its one of my favourite movies though.

Beyond the Valley of the Dolls
I second A Clockwork Orange.
