Anyone have any good gift ideas?
I've already done flowers, spa gift cards, dinner and a show, golf gift cards (my parents are avid golfers), and everything you would normally associate with Mother's Day. Anyone have any interesting, different gift ideas?

My sister and I wanted to get a gift basket for our mother for Mother's Day last year, but since she doesn't really like sweets and the baskets from Hickory Farms don't have wine, we put together our own basket. We got cheeses, summer sausage, crackers and sauces from Trader Joe's, a bottle of wine, and a basket to hold them all from Target. and it wound up being a lot cheaper than a Hickory Farms basket.

Posted: 5/2/10 at 8:44pmgives, I did something similar for my brother for Christmas. Making baskets are a lot of fun, cheap, and you can really personalize it. My brother likes pop corn and exotic coffees so it was a bunch of stuff related to that.

Posted: 5/3/10 at 12:47amI'm actually flying in for a surprise visit that morning. My brother and sister-in-law are going to pick me up and bring me to the restaurant that my grandmother always makes a reservation at for Mother's Day. I know that me showing up completely unexpected will be a far better present for my mom than anything I could possibly go and buy.

Posted: 5/3/10 at 12:59pmPhoto gifts are usually a hit. Digital photo frame pre-loaded with a card full of photos has been a hit for everyone I've given it to for any occasion. Also photo calendars and photo puzzles are quite popular. I do a photo calendar for my entire family every Christmas and there are websites that can do puzzles ranging from 100-1000 pieces. Photos are a great way to personalize a gift, especially for family, and with digital photos so popular now, it's very easy to create something unique to the individual and receive it quickly.
