That said -- she captured an Oscar nomination for best supporting actress in Steel Magnolias year before Pretty Woman came along...

Yeah, and I only watched CBS soaps, (Mainly "Guiding Light" and "As The World Turns"), so I only remember those folks.

Mr Roxy: Cybil Sheppard was a big star long before 'Moonlighting', that was more of a comeback vehicle for her.
As a 'One Life to Live' fan, Ryan Phillipe, Marcia Cross and Laurence Fishburne all started on my soap. Well, Marcia really started on "Edge of Night", where I believe she played a character named Beth, who had a sister named Elizabeth, and that always bugged me to no end.
