Veteran actress Nan Martin died...RIP.
I wonder if Betty White will go to the P-funeral.
She was also Philomena Bosco on GG, and Freddy Kruger's mother in Elms Street 3.

One of my favorite line readings, sm!
That and "what a couple of LOONS!" and "I look like the mother of a Solid Gold Dancer!"
Here's hoping Freida gets her danish.

Oh. I always got a kick out of Mrs. Claxton.
My friend Lane worked with her in J.B. on Broadway in the late 50s.

The kicking of the coffin STILL shocks me. And tickles me. Genius episode.
Hope she's enjoying a nice scotch with Bea and Estelle.

Haha, guess what I'm watching now? Different episode though.
The Freida Claxton/Drop Dead episode is one of my favorites!

Instead of asking, "WHO?", do some googling. She was a terrific actress with a long career on both stage and screen.
I remember loving her in a small lgbt film called Big Eden--do check it out.

Well, since SM2 didn't put his quote in "", then I go with Jerbys response.
Google is so easy!
And she was a lot of fun to watch, whatever part she was playing.

It was a reference to that "It's A Miserable Life" episode, which featured Nan Martin as Freida Claxton. I was trying to be clever, and I figured the many GG fans among us would get it so I didn't feel quotes would be necessary. Here's a clip from that hilarious moment:
Yes, Celia Rubenstein loved all mankind...

Jerby, I forgot about Big Eden! I'd always wondered how she threw together a roomful of eligible gay bachelors in rural Montana so quickly.

Posted: 3/5/10 at 10:37pmI have a vague recollection of Nan Martin playing an agent to a blind actor in a short-lived sitcom. Anyone remember it?
