Anyone heard anything about this? I read an article about it online today, and they said Peirce Bronson will be returning to play "Stu" ... wonder if Sally Field will do it as well?
What about Robin Williams? He WAS Mrs. Doubtfire, after all?
How is that going to work? The whole family knows that he is Mrs. Doubtfire, and he only did it to be with his kids (which he had at the end of the movie)
But didn't he get that TV show at the end of the movie? They might do something involving that instead.
Talk about rehashing.
If true, what about Harvey?

Yes he did. Remember at the very end, when he does that monologue about divorce? He was responding to a letter a viewer sent him. I think her name was Natalie.
Personally, I think they need to just leave it with the original (which was great, by the way)!
yeah I really don't think I will be seeing this! I really hate sequels to great movies!
imdb says that Bonnie Hunt penned the screenplay. and with Robin Williams reprising his role it couldn't end up being all that bad... could it?

Is this Mrs. Doubtfire 2: Revenge of Stu? Where Pierce Brosnan's is the only character from the first movie to come back?

If they want to do a sequel, they'll find a story. I remember when Miss Congeniality2 came out, I asked myself "wait, doesn't everyone know already that she's FBI?" that didn't stop them.
There are certain sequels that should just never happen.
My Girl 2, Dirty Dancing: Havana Nights and Look who's Talking Now are a few that pop to mind.

Why is there such a creative laziness these days?

There always has been creative laziness. It's just that creative vigor lingers in the mind for years. And we forget most of the products of creative laziness, except the extremely unforgettable ones.
Bonnie Hunt is an amazing writer/director. Return to Me is a favorite.
"creative vigor lingers in the mind for years"~
(trade ya "wrinkled shadow for that one, Namo)
Funny/Sad/True...that I always find this quality of "lingering creative vigor" in the assisted living center where my 85 yr. old mom lives. My God, these folks make my day!
RE: Doubtfire; I hold that and Meet The Fockers as the hallmark of humor to date, among a few others. Wish they wouln't mess with perfection.

This sequel depends on Robin Williams successfully completing rehab. It will be kind of hard to film if he is picking trash up on the side of the road with Boy George.

Is Mrs. Doubtfire going to be babysitting the grandkids? His children are all old enough to reproduce by now (even the young one, technically)!
Well they obviously are running out of ideas for movies now a days! How sad?
Are people really using the word "perfection" when speaking of Meet the Parents and Mrs. Doubtfire?
Nope, Sue, just little ole' me. To each his/her own humor.
But... imo, you can't beat that face poping out of the frige covered in pie. Hellooooooo!

Goth, Robin Williams wasn't arrested for anything.
