Oh, honey, I'm so sorry. There is nothing like a dog. I love them.

I'm sorry. I love my dog so much, and I can't imagine what it must be like to loose one. He's like my child, my little brother, and my best friend all rolled into one.

There's a picture of her in my icon. She loved begging for her treats! She always gave me her big puppy dog eyes! Thank you all for the kind words!

I'm sorry to hear that. Losing a pet is always hard. What was her name?

Sorry about your loss. She was a beauty.

Thank you all again. I got her when I was in the 4th grade, and I named her after The Little Mermaid. Her name was Ariel.

The best thing to do is get a new dog immediately. It really will help.

Hate to agree with Roxy but I will. It's not replacing your dog, but just finding a new place for all that love to flow.

See, it was not that bad. The world did not stop spinning on its axis because you agreed with me.
I agree with you at times & think nothing of it.

I was teasing Roxy! I'd agree more often, if only you were right more....instead of "right!"

Hmmmm I hold a different opinion. I think it is always better to grieve a bit before getting another pooch. I feel it isn't fair to the new pup because on some level you will be expecting him or her to be like your old dog.
Losing a beloved pet is very much like losing a human relative (in some cases even more traumatic). You have to go through the pain of the loss to really heal.
Sorry for you loss!

Oh I would love to get a new dog, it just all depends on how my parents feel. I know my mom and dad loved her alot too, but I think they may wait a while until they feel the time is right.

I am not right but independent
I could not vote for Obama but neither can I vote for Mc Cain.
It looks like a fringe candidate for me
Everyones definition of being "right" is objective. If I were right I would not say other than GWB action right after 9/11 & going into Afganistan (not Iraq) he has been been a dismal failure on everything. Obama is not the answer but people will find it out the hard way.

I was devastated when my last pet crossed the bridge. Hope you find another little buddy to love soon.

First of all I am so sorry for your loss. It is very tough to deal with.
"The best thing to do is get a new dog immediately. It really will help."
WRONG.....just like people do not go out and get a new partner, wife, etc......you need to deal with the feelings.
You will know when it is time to get another dog. Only YOU will know that time, don't listen to anyone else.
When my cat died which I had had for 17 years, it was six months before a paw tapped me in a store, and I knew that was the one.
Do what is in your heart, and listen to no one else (even me).
You'll know the right time.

I'm so sorry! I was devestated when my dog died so I know how you feel. Hang in there. As to when to get another dog I waited about 18 months , I just couldn't bare to 'replace' her , it depends on the person , my current dog will be ten in November , he's healthy but I guess he only has a few years. Anyway cyberhugs to you.

You can put up a memorial to your pet. It is a fee service, but it made the world of difference when MY CAT PASSED
