My dog just died today- Page 2

again, thanks everyone
i cannot even begin to tell you how much this means to me
its only been like 3 hours since i found out the news, and my parents are already telling me to not cry, and to move on with life and get a new dog, and im just shocked to even hear them talk like that- Princess was the best thing that ever happened in my life, and she meant so much to me, and to just hear them say "just move on, go watch a movie, you'll feel better" makes me sick
so yeah, you guys are really helping me through these rough hours, and i really appreciate it

not on this computer
i might be able to dig some up tomorrow- i really dont have that many pictures of her except from years ago
all the ones that i had taken over the past 3 years or so were all on my apple laptop, and the laptop got a virus, and everything on it, including the pictures, were erased
so i am left with about 6 or 7 pictures of her
i am so upset

That's terrible. At least for her time on earth, she had someone as wonderful as you to take care of her. She is a lucky girl.

yeah, i dont think any other dog could.
and its especially hard because my sister's dog is pretty sad- his name is Rex, and he and Princess were sort of "married". now he is very excited and keeps looking around for her, barking, whimpering, and such. so we dont know how he is going to hold up.
so this is a family crisis in a way.
but my parents are being so difficult, they just got finished yelling at me for crying and moping, and told me to not do it again. and im thinking "my dog just died a few hours ago!" so im having a hard time, but you guys are really making it easier for me

*tears* OMG I'm so sorry to hear about your dog!! I think dogs are wonderful to have as pets b/c they're so fun to play with and can cuddle with you when you're feeling bad. I hope you start to feel better soon. I've lost two dogs before b/c they got too old and it was really rough.

Again, sorry for your loss!

I have two chocolate labs (4 yrs and 6yrs) and they really are part of my family, like brothers, and I know that one would be desolate without the other. I remember losing my other lab back in forth grade, and I was so upset, I took a day off from school.
Dogs really are people's best friend.
My thoughts are with you and Rex too!

Cyberhug from this neck of the woods too. I cried like a baby when my pooch passed away, and I still carry a photo of her.

and we're all really worried about Rex, though
we're scared he might have a heart attack or just die of a broken heart if you know what i mean
this is gonna be a rough next few weeks...
and i only have myself to cry with

I am sure your parents are reacting that way out of love for you. They don't want to see you sad and they are trying different means to help you get through your sorrow, so don't be hard on them.
And don't worry that much about Rex. I am sure he loved Princess, but dogs get attached to human beings way more that they get attached to each other, so don't worry about his health. He will be sad for a while, but he'll get over it with your family's love and hugs.

Ah I am so sorry! It is really, really hard losing a pet. Ah and I feel really bad for the other dog ;(. I hope you feel better. I know how you feel. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your dog!

wow, life changed so suddenly, but oh well, ill just have to roll with the punches "as i stumble along"
and at least i know i can see her in heaven, and then we can play and hug and all that stuff as much as we want

Aw...I've had to see two of my dogs put down and losing a pet is so painful. You have my condolences. A lot of people don't get how awful it is, but they are truly like a part of your family. Many hugs to you.

I know exactly how you feel about losing your dog. Having a pet dog is not like having a pet... it's like having a brother or sister. It's perfectly fine to be sad. I don't see how anyone couldn't be saddened by this. We had to put my 13 year old dog down last year. We had him since I was 3 years old and I couldnt remember life without him. It was the hardest time of my life, and I imagine that this is the hardest time of yours. What brought me back to reality after my dog, Jimmy, left us is that, where he is now, he can never feel any pain or negativity again. Maybe Jimmy and Princess are playing together now! If you want to talk e-mail me! :)

Aaw...I'm really sorry to hear about your dog. I know how you feel.

I remember my old dog, Missy. My mom had originally bought her for my brother, but after I was born and had come home, Missy and I bonded right away (at least that's what my mom says). We had to put Missy down about three years ago (when I was in 8th grade) when she was 15 years old.

wow, Missy lived a long time
i really thought Princess wouldve lived longer, i thought id be in college or something when i'd have to face this, but not when i just started high school
and i feel so awful because i hadnt seen her all summer long and i was finally going to get to play with her this weekend (i have football during the week and cant walk her), and now...i cant
im sorry if i keep rambling on and on about Princess, but life just feels empty, and i just dont like thinking about having to go on with regular life, just acting like nothing that big of a deal happened
i wish i could stay home from school tomorrow...maybe i can, but i had a sick day today (stomach flu) so it doesnt seem too likely

but again, thanks for the support, guys, it means so much to me to hear those words of encouragement and such

oh, but i just found out shes getting cremated, and maybe its just me, but im upset my parents didnt ask me first. i didnt want her to be cremated, i had wished that she would be buried. i just dont like the thought of her body burned up. my parents always talked about how gross they thought it was to be cremated for people, and how much they were against it, but when it comes to my dog, they say go ahead with it? golly. but now its too late, and my parents would get super mad at me if i mentioned it to them

boy im gonna do a lot of crying tonight...

thanks guys, this will probably be it for me for tonight. thanks for the help and support, im sure Princess appreciates it, too!

i'm so sorry. i know how much i love my lab molly... she's 14
my old dog was a black lab irish setter mix named mindy. she died when i was in elementary school when she was 12. we had her cremated and her ashes are in a container with flowers on it and her tag is taped to the top. the container sits on my shelf so she will always be near me.
