Hi everyone
I just wanted to say that my dog, Princess, just died today
She was a Golden Retriever, and would have turned 7 in a few weeks
I know probably none of you really care, and it isnt that big of a deal, but I just hope I can get some healing and stuff from this board because my parents are in a big fight right now, and are just telling me not to be upset and such, so I'm just using cyberspace as a little haven
I just felt like saying that, and I miss her so much
So yeah...how are all of you doing today?
oh, i'm so sorry! i've definitley been there and i know how upsetting it is.
*hugs*
I'm so sorry to hear about your loss. My thoughts are with you and Princess.

so sorry to hear this.
You may want to also visit http://www.rainbowsbridge.com
a place where you can create a memorial for your dog, and also chat with others going through the same thing. When I lost my cat of 17yrs this place really helped me.
Bway, my thoughts and prayers are with you. I hope you find peace and comfort during this sad time. Losing a pet is hard-they are our friends and companions.

I am so sorry for your loss ! My dog is my life and I can't bear to think what will I do, if something happens to him ! I am sure Princess had a wonderful life with you and she surely doesn't want you to be sad, watching you from above ! I have lost pets in the past and i know how you feel. Many people are against it, but trust me, the best way to get over it, is a new puppy. Princess won't mind at all, because all our dogs want, is for us to be happy ! And it will give you something new, to give all that love you have in you ! Take care

thanks everyone for all the comments and everything, ill definitely be using that rainbowbridge site
she really was my best friend (besides my sister at least), and it was just so sudden- she was so young, and she just died in her sleep
greek, love ya....but I disagree. You need to work through things first....take the time to heal, and then perhaps consider it.

and greekmusicalfan, thanks for the new puppy suggestion
my mom just told me we could get a new one like 1/2 an hour ago, but i said no
but now, maybe ill wait awhile, and get a new one in a few months or so
i dont really know right now
thanks, though, to everyone
You must be allowed to grieve. When I lost my first dog, I banged my head on the table and sobbed. It was Thanksgiving and it was one of the most painful days of my life. Losing the pet who you shared so much love with is devastating and so painful. Hugs.
I agree that it's totally up to the person, if and when they get a new pet ! It took my mom years to take on my offer and get another dog, after her last one passed away.
It worked for me, but I live alone and my previous dog was my companion. When he passed away, I felt so lonely coming home and not hearing tiny nails clicking on the floor to come and greet me, that I got my new love 20 days after. But everyone reacts differently. I hope bwayondabrain does whatever makes him feel better. Princess passed away today, so I know it is way too early to even think about that. But dying in your sleep is the best way to go, so take comfort in the thought that she didn't suffer at all.
And Elphaba, love ya too
Of course it's a big deal, bwayondabrain. Losing a pet is like losing a member of the family. We had to put my dog to sleep last summer (he was 13 and hadn't been doing well for about a year) and it was very upsetting. I left work in tears.
I'm so sorry to hear your parents aren't more of a support for you right now. Feel free to grieve, and I hope you're able to find a bit of comfort in comments here.

Sorry to hear that. Golden retrievers are so beautiful.

yes they are
she was really pretty- i might post a picture of her later
she was very small for a golden retriever, actually, but she was adorable
i just found out from the vet that she died from a heart attack while she was sleeping, but the vet said she didnt suffer at all, so that is good for me to hear
and yeah, im not too sure now, but i'd like to wait a few years, maybe in college or something, till i might get a new dog
its just so hard to think about having another dog in her place
and i just am scarred from seeing her dead body from my window as my dad wrapped her in a tarp or something...its such a horrible sight to see your dog and friend in such a horrible state
but anyway, i cant thank you all enough for your tremendous love and support- i dont even know most of you, and you're all giving me even more support than my friends and family!
so anyway, ill talk to you all later
Hugs both to greek and bway.

I'm so sorry for your loss! My dog died in 2000 and I still haven't brought myself around to getting a puppy. Everyone is different. I know your dog still loves you very much and I'm sure Princess couldn't have asked for a better home. *Hugs*
Aww, I am so sorry. It is such a hard time when you lose a pet. I still miss my dog everyway, and she passed away in 2003.
I'm sending warm wishes and hugs!
