AND, anyways is not a word.

Although I DO have a fondness for the locution "Myself and the little lady..."

Bizarre coincidence...I was just discussing this yesterday. Don't know why, but recently it seems like many people are using the word 'myself' improperly. Was this popularized by some recent TV or movie character?

I think people think it sounds fancy. Just like when people don't realize that sometimes it's "and I." Sometimes it IS "and me."
Yup, kiddies. The best rule for the "and I" problem is to take out the other noun. ("He gave the gift to Tammy and I" is as wrong as "He gave the gift to I.")
It's called a "hypercorrection"--when people make a mistake trying too hard to "speak correctly."

"Me Myself I" is a wonderful Joan Armatrading song.

At the beginning of Bridget Jones's Diary she lip syncs "All By Myself."
Oh wexy, ALL Joan Armatrading songs are wonderful. Myself, me likes The Weakness In Me...or is it The Weakness In I?

Ooops.
Kringas -
Actually, The Wizard and I is mostly grammatically correct. Most of the time, it references back to a 'we', so the use of 'I' is correct. I believe one of the uses later in the song is incorrect.

OH GOD I LOVE JOAN! Myself loves "Weakness in Me" a lot and sang "I love it when you call me names" myself just this AM!
Sorry to threadjack- what are we talking about?
One way to know whether its "me or "I" is to take the other person out of the sentence. EX: "Johnny and I are going to the store." now take the name out. "I am going to the store." You wouldn't say me am going to the store. or "this picture of johnny and me" take the name out. "this picture of me" you wouldn't say this picture of I.
Maybe we should let Calvin in on that little rule, Lindsay.

Another thing you can do is take out the words before "and I."
I'm afraid I'm going to come off as an idiot but who is Calvin?
Mr. Cellophane, it seems!
WHOM is calvin.
Might want to read a thread before responding, Lindsay.
