Toward the south side and middle of Shakespeare's Garden (which is in the middle between the Swedish Marionette Cottage, Belvedere Castle and the Delacorte Theater) you can find pink wild rosebushes in bloom. There are other colonial-style older small white rosebushess all around the garden as well, though they lack the sweet scent of the wild ones...

But when did New Hampshire become--Such a backward wasteland of seatbelt hating crazies?...I mean, only 40 people actually live there. The others are just visitors who come for the tax-free liquor and three inches of novelty coastline. John Hodgeman on The Daily Show (1-30-07)

Posted: 4/5/06 at 11:15amI KNOW! What's up with the snow? I haven't been paying attention to the weather, and it looked decent this morning. I was running late to class, so I just threw on my sandals and ran, and it wasn't that bad. I was a little on the chilly side, but still comfortable. I get out of class two hours later and it's FREEZING and SNOWING! WTF?!?!?! Good think I'm only a 5 minute walk from school. That's what I get for not putting the news on while I'm having breakfast, or popping onto weather.com before leaving! What a dolt.

'Neath the pink double blossom cherry trees on the West Side of the Reservoir in Central Park is where you'll find me...
They have just begun to bloom and are fully budded. Should be more full bloom by this weekend!
You can find blue & white violets along the west side of the rowboat pond by the shore, and some violets in the Rambles.
And you can spy two large fields of purple violets if you take the windy carved stone walkway down off to the side by Belvedere Castle right beside the odd little power plant there. Walk about 75 feet out from the foot of the carved bedrock stairs and spy a field of violets on either side...
