Toward the south side and middle of Shakespeare's Garden (which is in the middle between the Swedish Marionette Cottage, Belvedere Castle and the Delacorte Theater) you can find pink wild rosebushes in bloom. There are other colonial-style older small white rosebushess all around the garden as well, though they lack the sweet scent of the wild ones...

Eeee!!! I'm so excited for spring. I LOVE magnolias! The one in the courtyard at school is in bloom, and I can't help but smile every time I go by it. I think I need to walk by it more often!
Ahhhh Forsythia and the Magnolias.... The first thing to make me sneeze, and it won't stop until November!
Flowers and Fauna quite the delicious smell
mominator's nose doth begin to swell
And the snow is coming down fast and furious right now.
I KNOW! What's up with the snow? I haven't been paying attention to the weather, and it looked decent this morning. I was running late to class, so I just threw on my sandals and ran, and it wasn't that bad. I was a little on the chilly side, but still comfortable. I get out of class two hours later and it's FREEZING and SNOWING! WTF?!?!?! Good think I'm only a 5 minute walk from school. That's what I get for not putting the news on while I'm having breakfast, or popping onto weather.com before leaving! What a dolt.
OY-and the flakes are those huge white fluffy ones! I'd appreciate this in Jan, but not TODAY!!!!

The frothy white stuff makes its show
To decorate our blooms in snow
Snow is cold enough to chill them,
Hope blooms are hearty so it doesn't kill them.

some clearer skies
so wipe your nose
and dry your eyes

some outdoor place
where you can make
a funny face
Be careful you don't get stung by a bee, bebe!

'Neath the pink double blossom cherry trees on the West Side of the Reservoir in Central Park is where you'll find me...
They have just begun to bloom and are fully budded. Should be more full bloom by this weekend!
You can find blue & white violets along the west side of the rowboat pond by the shore, and some violets in the Rambles.
And you can spy two large fields of purple violets if you take the windy carved stone walkway down off to the side by Belvedere Castle right beside the odd little power plant there. Walk about 75 feet out from the foot of the carved bedrock stairs and spy a field of violets on either side...
The city is awash in color. It's beautiful.

And catch the armies of giant pink tulips along the stately center of Park Ave!
And tulips in bloom all over town...
I spent as much time as I could on Park Ave. today... and took some pictures of the beautiful tulip beds.
