If after last nights monstrosity anyone still believes the Mets have a chance of anything but embarrasing themselves further this year, I have a bridge I would like to sell them. They are the Moose Murders of baseball. Anyone who spends any time or money on these guys should have their head examined.

My father was a rabid Mets fan. If he were alive today, he would have had an eruption like Vesuivius after that last night

How bold and brave of you to declare them dead a third of the way through the season.

Christ, I'm a Royals fan I haven't even done that yet.

Roxy likes to be first when it comes to proclaiming doom. He's like the guy that stands on the corner wearing a sandwich board saying "The end is near".

A season (no matter what the sport) can't go by without one of his "stick a fork in them" threads.

He was doing the same thing the year the Giants won the Superbowl.

You know, Roxy's asking for a knuckleball...right between his beady little eyes.

Considering I just came back from a 6-2 victory, I'm inclined to disagree with you. Once the rest of the team comes back from their various injuries, the team should be good. If they can pick up a solid starter, via a trade maybe, they should be in decent shape. Nieve had a strong outing today.

The mets' pattern for the last several years has been the same so I'm not getting all excited each time they win. Let's see if they can finally go all the way without screwing up late in the season.

I am and always have been a mets fan but it's mainly because I don't want to be a yankee fan!

I was very impressed with Nieve. He was poised, and not afraid to throw inside-- (I was surprised that the Yanks did not throw at Wright after Arod got plunked.

Agree with Frogs--- Mets need to add a power bat, and most likely another arm, but they will be in contention the entire year.

The Phils pitching staff is a mess. Great lineup, but no pitching.

Just ask the Pittsburgh Penguins, who at Christmas were ninth in the playoffs.

True, Tommy..... I think at one point late, they were actually 10th... Huge win on the road in Detroit. Great year if you live in Pittsburgh !!! (well, except if you like the Pirates)

But 2 teams winning championships very nice !!!

Happen to be a Steeler fan, living here in NYC.

Ok I am a Phillies fan and as much as I would LOVE to see the METS choke again, I don't think it will happen this year(pitching is alot better this year) and if it does then they need to look at the leadership on this team...because the one thing about the Phillies is that they are a team who believes in each other...the problem with the METS is that they have too many players who think they are the biggest star on the team and they do what is right for them and not the team and they are quick to point fingers at everyone but themselves.

This Braves fan wouldn't mind seeing Roxy's typical (and yawn inducing) doom and gloom speech of the month come to fruition, but it seems like a long shot at best.

They aren't the best team in baseball by any stretch, but they are better than what we've seen and they'll be into it deep into September.
