I love Sunnyside Cab. but maybe that's just cuz i live in sunnyside. they will go pick you up in midtown tho, and it usually comes to less than a city cab.

I use Hoyt Limo in Astoria -- but as said, that's cause I live in Astoria.
For all over, I would go with CarmelLimo.com.

The best I have ever used is New Family Car Service. 212-749-7777.

New Day & Night, (212) 694-4000.
Much cheaper than Carmel or any of the other more famous ones (although that could be just for me, because their base is not far from my apartment). And just as reliable.

I'm not sure, DG, because I have never taken New Family outside of Manhattan, but I would be VERY surprised if they didn't. Like Calvin's recommendation, this one is cheap, reliable, spotless and very professional. I used another a couple of months ago because the hotel recommended it, and it was a nightmare. The driver didn't know where he was going, so it took me an extra half-hour to get to my destination!
(I will get the name of the bad car service and post it by this weekend so everyone can avoid it!)

Posted: 2/14/07 at 11:37pmI would LOVE to just have a Town Car waiting at JFK to take 4 adults and 2 weeks worth of luggage to midtown!

DG, mine goes to LaGuardia -- that's about the only time I use it, because it's nearly impossible to find a yellow cab in my neighborhood -- so I'd imagine they'd go to JFK as well.
eta: I've had fine experiences with Carmel -- just this one saves me about $10 over Carmel to get from my apartment to LaGuardia.

Posted: 2/15/07 at 12:30amYou know, DG, that's a very good idea. The thought of waiting for a cab in the freezing cold, especially with the kids, is not very pleasant. I am going to call my favorite service tomorrow from the train. Thanks for the suggestion!

My goal is to walk into baggage claim and see someone holding up a sign with "DG" written on it!

I want my sign to say, "Miss Pennywise"!

Posted: 2/15/07 at 1:23amI used New Day Car Service (http://www.newdaycars.com/) to go from Greenwich Village to JFK when I went to Seattle last year. I had them pick me up at 6am and they arrived right on time and were very pleasant. The rate to JFK was $50.

Isn't there one, whose number is literally like 750-111-1111?
I used them a few times, and I was pleased.
Wow, that was really helpful.

Have you all noticed that the word "New" is in an awful lot of these companies' names?
FYI, the "bad" one I used once is called "New Special Car Service." (Their number is 212-666-3939. I'm providing it so you don't use it!)

Posted: 2/19/07 at 11:15amFor business trips, I have to use Last Radio. They're not my favorite -- they were once about 45 minutes late in picking me up, and I had to catch a cab in the interim to make my flight -- and they're more expensive than the others, but I don't get reimbursed if I don't use them.
