In case you weren't already aware of the fact that I'm a geek...
I have a name collection.
It's a lovely collection to have, as it really can't be stolen.
And it's fun.
Some names that I have run into in the course of my life:
- Marsha Mellow
- Clay Rene Dazzle
- Cash Register
- Majestic Maps
- Cinderella Snow White
- Serenity Sunshine
My summer job filing records has added to my collection significantly as well.
I'm fascinated by people with names like Kahlua, Cimberly, and Cinnamon.
And by the dating couple, a man and a woman, both named Devon.
Or the married pair Terry and Teri.
If you have a name or two (and perhaps a story?
) please send them along. I love adding to my collection.

I know a Frie(pronounced "free) At-Last.
My favorite name story EVER:
A man named John Desmond Lewis decided to run as a British parliamentary candidate of The Raving Looney Societty of Cambridge in 1981.
He had two goals with his campaign.
1. To set a new record for least number of votes ever cast in a British election.
2. To have his name read on television (incorrectly) by the lord mayor.
In order to achieve this, John Desmond Lewis legally changed his name to:
Tarquin Fintimlinbinwhinbimlin Bus Stop-F'Tang-F'Tang-Ole-Biscuit-Barrel
Unfortunately for Tarquin, he attracted 233 votes, which was far more than the record of a mere 20.
And the lord mayor shortened his name to "Mr. Tarquin Biscuit-Barrel".
I sure am glad he tried, though. :)
Actually, the above story was true.
Although, I have a feeling that the Monty Python voting sketch may have taken this as inspiration.
Really?
Oh I LOVE that.
:)
Let's throw up some stage names.
Judy Garland was born Frances Gumm.
Lucille Ball was Dianne Belmont.
Nina Simone was Eunice Waymon
And I recently learned that Alan Alda's father Robert was born as Alphonso D'Abruzzo, which makes me wonder if he's any relation to Stephanie.
One of my favorites is Anne Bancroft born Anna Maria Italiano .
I read somewhere that Jennifer Aniston was Jennifer Anistonopolous. I don't know if its true though.
When I was in 6th grade, the first day of class we had to stand up and introduce ourselves, saying something about us. This one girl stood up and said, "My name is Patricia Michelle Smith........and my initials spell PMS." I can't believe that I still remember that. Guess it left an impression on me.

I know a guy named BJ. Never give your kid those initials.
My parents almost named me something, until they realized that I would have not so nice initials. They quickly changed their minds.
I really love the named of Demi Moore and Bruce Willis' daughters.
Tallulah Belle, Rumer Glen, and Scout LaRue.
I am amused by the recent celeb children Apple, Coco, and Puma, if perhaps less impressed by them.
I have a second cousin, once removed (honestly) named BOBB BOBB.

Two boys whose names were Lemonjello and Orangejello.
I have known several BJ's. Get your head out of the gutter. I know what you are thinking!
The most interesting name that I have heard is Rose-Confidence. She's a freshman in my drama class this year. I find it interesting to have a noun as part of your name. That's like Hilary-Ambition, or Sara-Pride. It's interesting. That's the only way that I can put it.
"Rose-Confidence"
I like it!
a guidence counsler named Holiday-Cruz(pronounced Cruise)

i met a girl in high school named Palas Gates and another girl named January French which I thought was funny. Also, and this is not at joke, there was a kid in my high school whose name was Phil McKracken AND a Harry Cox...Pretty silly...
Once a friend of mine swore that she heard a woman in the emergency room yelling at her son "Dorito! Dorito, get over here!" Seriously people, why would you do that to your child?

Ok, here are my names. A city councilman where I used to live was named Murray Glascock. When he lost the election the headline read" GLASCOCK SHATTERED OVER ELECTION RESULTS" my other story is I went to a gyncecologist named Dr. Hyman. He sent me for a second opinion to another gynecologist named Dr. Cherry. You try keeping a straight face.

Does anyone remember the Saturday Night Live sketch were the counselors at a Fresh Air camp for city kids are calling the names of the African-American campers to board their buses home. It was hysterical. The most bizarre names...household products, body parts...
