I always like it when animals have human-sounding names. Particularly formal names, but whatever.
"I have to get home and feed Robert."
"Going for a walk with Jennifer"
"Gordon likes to jump on people."
The possibilities are endless.

Radames (Aida), Emcee (Cabaret), or Sweeney, Fosse, and all the other ones mentioned.

Nothing more than two syllables. Otherwise scolding the puppy is too much of a mouthful.

I like the idea of a "human" name - but one that's not too common. We used to have an adorable turtle named Milton, which we chose for no reason at all.
