Plum, we spent about 15 minutes at dinner discussing this.
In Chicago there are a few Indian restaurants on Belmont and there are dozens on Devon. We used to get great Nan from both areas.
I love cheese Nan.
Trader Joes and Gelsons carries it.

My Indian/Pakistani hallmate baked Nan for all of us; it was lovely.

I love NAN, I have only eaten it once, but it was fantastic.
I have NO idea what you people are talking about.....
thanks, that DOES look yummy!
Well, at least now we know what a "code nan" is.
ETA: I posted this in Namo's thread, but I figure I can spread it around a little.
This will probably get this thread locked as well, but I updated the code:

garlic cilantro nan for me, please
East 6th Street between 1st and 2nd Avenues is known as Indian Restaurant Row. One could go up and down the street tasting different Nans in different restaurants until one turned into a Nan balloon.
There's a great little hole-in-the-wall Indian restaurant in my hometown that has the best sweet nan I've ever tasted. Every time I go back to the area to visit family, I always make sure to stop in.
Garlic naan is the best. The local Indian restaurant that I go to makes it with a ton of garlic, and I love it.

Isn't the other Indian food area around Lexington Ave. in the upper 20's - known as "Curry Hill"?
Naan with cheese?! Isn't that sacriligious??
And I love the updates, sp78!
