This is evidently very controversial topic, but it deserves to be discussed. So, thoughts? Preferences?

Plum, we spent about 15 minutes at dinner discussing this.

In Chicago there are a few Indian restaurants on Belmont and there are dozens on Devon. We used to get great Nan from both areas.

I love cheese Nan.

Well, at least now we know what a "code nan" is.

ETA: I posted this in Namo's thread, but I figure I can spread it around a little. re: Nan Bread

This will probably get this thread locked as well, but I updated the code:

BWW COLOR-CODED WARNING SYSTEM:

CLASS I ALERTS
PUCE: nothing happening; dull
CHARTREUSE: mild turbulance, with possibility of escalation
MAGENTA...bitch fight in progress;probability of escalation
BURNT SIENA: a gang-up on one poster
SAFFRON: private conversation threadjack
CADMIUM: blatant shilling
FUSCHIA: a poster is having a meltdown, but will be okay by morning
VERMILLION: a poster is having a total meltdown that will have residual effects (like leaving the board or at least a prolonged absence)
CELADON: all hell has broken loose

***Adding any of the Class II factors to any Class I alert increases chance of a meltdown by 20%***

CLASS II ALERTS
CORNFLOWER: sock puppet in midst
THISTLE: someone's very touchy
BABYBLUE: the kids are taking over
CHESTNUT: assh*le on the loose
PERIWINKLE: risqué posting
SALMON: unbelievable cluelessness
RAW UMBER: someone is beating a dead horse to death...again
GOLDENROD: ridiculous attention grab in process
ANTIQUEWHITE: grammar/spelling stickler on the loose

CLASS III ALERTS: Moderator Lunacy
NAN: threads locked or deleted for no reason
LILAC: perceived inappropriateness, action threatened
AQUAMARINE: threatening pm received

I stand corrected, you are as vapid as they say.

East 6th Street between 1st and 2nd Avenues is known as Indian Restaurant Row. One could go up and down the street tasting different Nans in different restaurants until one turned into a Nan balloon.

There's a great little hole-in-the-wall Indian restaurant in my hometown that has the best sweet nan I've ever tasted. Every time I go back to the area to visit family, I always make sure to stop in.

Garlic naan is the best. The local Indian restaurant that I go to makes it with a ton of garlic, and I love it. re: Nan Bread

Isn't the other Indian food area around Lexington Ave. in the upper 20's - known as "Curry Hill"?
