Need another reason to support whomever the Democratic nominee is? #1

"All hurricanes are acts of God, because God controls the heavens. I believe that New Orleans had a level of sin that was offensive to God, and they are -- were recipients of the judgment of God for that. The newspaper carried the story in our local area that was not carried nationally that there was to be a homosexual parade there on the Monday that the Katrina came. And the promise of that parade was that it was going to reach a level of sexuality never demonstrated before in any of the other Gay Pride parades. So I believe that the judgment of God is a very real thing. I know that there are people who demur from that, but I believe that the Bible teaches that when you violate the law of God, that God brings punishment sometimes before the day of judgment. And I believe that the Hurricane Katrina was, in fact, the judgment of God against the city of New Orleans."
--Pastor John Hagee
"All I can tell you is I'm very proud to have pastor Hagee's support."

Wow.
And the next President will likely have to replace THREE Supreme Court Justices.

I used to find his show fascinating. He writes his sermons as applause points.
And he REALLY doesn't like Harry Potter (or Harr-ah Pott-uh, as he says).

Posted: 3/6/08 at 1:32pmPeople said this about GWB in 2000. As far as I can tell, the US didn't become a theocracy.

"And the next President will likely have to replace THREE Supreme Court Justices."
I think McCain would probably pick good candidates for the Supreme Court.

Posted: 3/6/08 at 1:51pmI think McCain would pick the same kind of justices that George Bush did--disastrous jurists for personal liberties and the Constitution.

John McCain's right wing whacko of the day!#12
Posted: 3/7/08 at 1:41pm
Maybe we can add a "McCain embraces a freaky spooky right-wing pastor" of the day feature on here?
Now McCain is claiming Rod Parsley as his "Spiritual advisor." Parsley has a lot of odd ideas, in addition to the usual anti-gay stuff. He's dead set in favor of Hate Criems (read that again if you have to) and pooh-poohs that whole "Pacifist Jesus" hooey. He's not afraid of a fight and is armed and ready to take on all comers- including a group of fellow pastors who testified against him in an IRS hearing that challenged his tes-exempt status:
"The secular media never likes it when I say this, so let me say it twice. Man your battle stations! Ready your weapons! They say this rhetoric is so inciting. I came to incite a riot. ... Man your battle stations. Ready your weapons. Lock and load--for the thirty, forty liberal pastors who filed against our ministry with the Internal Revenue Service. ... Let the struggle begin. Let it begin in your heart today with a shout unto him who has called us to war--not only that, he has empowered you and I to win."
