I am still hoping Patti LuPone as Lola Lasagna!

I love reading fanboy comments - they make theater queens look like lackadaisical wannabees
I have no knowledge of Batman lore, really, so I'm just intrigued by the Catwoman casting from what I've seen before. Besides, I love Anne. A lot.
I like Anne in this role much more than the rumored Talia al-Ghul (though that would add some continuity from Batman Begins) or Vicki Vale (I always saw VV as a blond).
The moment Tom Hardy was attached the the project I knew Bane would be in the running.
I do hope there are more female characters from actual Batman lore added to the films. If the 90s animated series could do a good job with old and new female characters, Christopher Nolan certainly could if he wanted.
Joe, the only thing that would be more fabulous than that would be Jim Parsons as the Bookworm.

I'm very excited about Anne. Latley she has become one of my favorite film actresses.
I adore Anne Hathaway, but I was really hoping the rumors about Joseph Gordon-Levitt playing the Riddler would turn out to be true.

I enjoy Anne too. But so much for my hope of her playing the She-Hulk's alter-ego. I can just easily visualize her hulking out starting with her eyes turning green when angered. I do recall her being up, until the total rebooting of Spider-Man, for the Vulture's daughter role from Aint-It-Cool-News a couple of years ago.
Will we ever get Roland Daggett and/or The Creeper in a future Batman movie?

as i'm sure many ppl here know, the creators of the batman animated series (timm's version of batman still being the definitive one over even nolan's, IMHO) found the riddler the hardest villain to write for, by far. it was hard to come up with riddles that didn't come across as gimmicky, schlocky, or downright cheesy. this is okay for the 70s show with adam west or a glitzy, fabulous schumaker version or even a batman: brave and the bold approach, but less desirable if one's vision is a darker, grittier story.
so it shouldn't come as a huge surprise that nolan eschewed that route.

The ONION AV CLUB pointed out that the announcement of Anne Hathaway only confirms that she's playing Selina Kyle. There's no mention of her appearing as Catwoman -- maybe this next film (not that I'm planning on sitting through another of Nolan's crap flicks) will just be an origins story for her, and there'll be a hint of the Catwoman at the end. As they did for the Joker in that dreadful BATMAN BEGINS, you know, to give us a thread into the next sure to suck installment.
On the other hand, Nolan won't be doing the fourth one, so it might turn out to be watchable after all.
There actually was a quip in TDK that could qualify as a foreshadow to Catwoman. There was a scene after getting bitten by dogs Bruce Wayne/Batman goes to Lucius to look at new gadgets to avoid a similar situation:
Bruce Wayne: How will it hold up against dogs?
Lucius Fox: We talking Rottweilers or Chihuahuas? Should do fine against cats.
