Posted: 6/13/06 at 10:40pmI started buying Espana at Macy's, only to have them start discontinuing all my favorite colors. (That was the first betrayal.) I guess that's what I get for not going with Fiestaware in the first place.

I HAVE to congratulate you three - I mean, this is quite an accomplishment on this board - but you have done it. You have created...
THE GAYEST THREAD EVER.

Posted: 6/13/06 at 10:47pmI love it too because my grandmother had a large set of green that I saw every time I visited. I like that new color.

i think it has something to do with the mix 'n' match-i-ness of it...like GARANIMALS.
i know for me, there is also the same appeal that i find in the music of Esquivel....a kind of effortless carefree glamor.

I think Heather is really Grape.
I just have stoneware and bone china.
I have not incorporated the evident glee of the experience of fiestaware into my home.

I have every color except for lilac, the most prized color, as I refuse to pay almost $200 a placesetting on EBAY as it's discontinued.
Least fav color, white.....makes no sense at all to me. Favorite color, Sapphire, now discontinued and the second most valuable color to collect.
Chloe, what your grandmother had was original Fiesta....I collect the new (made since 71).....the original, due to it's age, etc is very expensive to collect

We are a Fiestaware family in my house. My favorite is this beautifullll cobalt blue set we have in the kitchen. I think I need "FIESTAWARE 4 LYFE" tattooed on my upper arm.

I adore Fiestaware, and it is what we use to entertain with. We've got 400+ pieces of the original Fiestaware and Harlequin. For the new Fiesta, I only collect only the 10" vases, the tripod candlesticks, and the cute little disk pitcher-shaped creamers. Like the Fiesta Queens that we are, we have the new stuff in all colors (including lilac and sapphire --- though no tripods in sapphire since they were not officially made in this color).
Fiesta is made for mixing and matching. The new cinnebar looks great with the gray. I also like the sunflower yellow with the periwinkle blue.

I would love to use Fiestaware. I love the Heather. On my salary, all I can afford is Corningware.

Jersey:
The factory in Newell, WV also has a 'seconds' room --- sort of like a scratch & dent room -- which sells items every day. Items there can be quite inexpensive (plates or serving bowls for under $2 each). I've bought many an Xmas gift there (many of the 'seconds' are of very good quality). Newell is right across the river from East Liverpool, OH and about a 45 minute drive from Pittsburgh.
