Hmmm... Looks good. Great cast, and it'll be so much fun to see Nicholson play a bad guy once again.

I've enjoyed, and even loved, most of Scorsese's films (except for GoNY). Hopefully, this will deliver.

There you go. I knew there had to be one.

EDIT: The comment above wasn't meant to be against Gangs. I was really curious.

I dunno. I guess the reason why I'm so mixed on this is because it just looks like Scorsese Lite, as good as it is to see him back to his old ultraviolent tricks.

Yeah! Will Hunting is back.

At leats they cast actors who are actually from Boston so not all the accents will suck.

Leo's isn't good, Damon and Walhberg's are real, Baldwin's reminds me of Robin Williams in Good Will Hunting. They're all totally different accents. I hate that. Pulls me right out of the movie.

Sorry, pet peeve of mine, being from Boston.

Me too, Moxie. It always pissed me off that Williams got an Oscar for dropping a couple of R's when he felt like it.

Scorsese is a genius. One of the last of a dying breed. Anything he directs is worth seeing.

My friend's father is featured in the movie and from what my friend says, it will be another great movie.

CS, he should have either not had an accent at all, or studied it and done it correctly.

That is an important piece of the performance, and he threw it away. Lazy.

What did you think of The Aviator?

Loved it. After two years, I have come to realize that Eternal Sunshine..., Sideways, and Million Dollar Baby were slightly better, but I still think it's a fantastic movie overall. DiCaprio's best performance, and Blanchett deserved her Oscar.

That was Williams' best performance ever.

That, and One Hour Photo.

One of my best friend's dad is in this film, he appears twice in the trailer. The studio seems to hype this up for success so we shall have to see I guess. The trailer didn't really impress me much

I have to agree with Rath. Williams' accent was horrible and almost charicaturish. He was doing a Kennedy accent, not a Boston accent. It took away from the authenticity that the rest of the film had. The had everything down to the track suits and dunkin donuts coffee that the guys from Southie are famous for.

re: New Scorsese Movie THE DEPARTED Has A Trailer

I guess that pretty much proves our point. If he had done a good job, you would have realized he had the same accent as everyone else in the film - a very noticeable Southie accent. Which he didn't, because he didn't bother.

And yet, he won an Oscar. Undeservedly.

But didn't you notice that every other person in the movie had it except him? How could you miss that?
