Does anyone take the NY Times seriously anymore? This is about the fifth time that they have printed something that turned out to be a hoax. Don't they employ factcheckers? Or anyone who knows how to do an internet search?

Gothampc -
As someone who has worked in the publishing industry and actually knows the entire process, workflow and time it takes to get a newspaper produced and in front of your door before you wake up I can assure you this is of no consequence in regards to "credibility"
But make a mountain out of a grain of sand.
The story was factual - they happen to include one (of several it would appear) wrong cover.
Post a new thread about the NYT's credibility being called into question when they actually REPORT something factually incorrect in the actual STORY.
You act like the story was front page news and actually "mattered"

Posted: 4/25/11 at 1:22pmAbout 15 years ago The NY Times said that the movie EVITA started at 1pm and when I got to the theater I found it actually had started at 12:45, which made me miss the previews. I almost became a republican that day.

Haha--that is just funny.
One of The Onion's spoofs turning up in the NYT.
Like that thread on BWW that announced a certain BWW sock puppet and another nonexistent entity were going to be replacing the leading women in The Light in the Piazza tour and the actresses, not understanding it was nonsense, got all worried and upset about it and someone in touch with them posted to demand verification, etc.
The idea of a sock puppet singing the lead in Piazza, c'mon, it is just funny.
Where is everybody's sense of humor?
