Posted: 7/5/06 at 7:14pmOkay I'm a Red Sox fan and I take in great joy when the Yankees get their butts handed to them(like last night). But I think it's a little bit early to be saying these things. There is still the other half of the season people.

This guy is going to have a great career
Amazing a real mets prospect not traded away & living up to his hype. He will see many big paydays plus money on endorsements

Rox. a big statement after the Mets got their asses hand 16-7 the night before and if not for a horrible by the umpire, the Mets would still be playing the Pirates.
Look at the calendar as well. I'd much rather lose a game 19-1 than 2-1.
The National League is atrocious, lets see how the Mets handle adversity. The NL east is where the BWW softball would finish second.

I am saying one main reason the Mets will make the playoffs is the NL East is the weakest in recent memory> They have the nuclues of a good club but need a few pitchers , a player or two & a new manager
This season will whet their appetite for next year. In the mid 80's, they should have been a dynasty & it never happened

Ok. I'm just a newbie here but still, I gotta say something for the team I've loved since I was in the womb, probably before.
It's always too early to count the Yanks out. We're always behind or in some type of drama this time of year so yeah.
Having said that, the Mets are playing soo well it's easy to see them as NL Champs even this early.
Anyway, I'm out.

THank you! I am a lifetime Indians fan, so I am still bitter from years past about the Yankees. And, remember that the owner of the Yankees was at the game last night and it was his birthday. Interesting fact-He grew up in the town I was born in (about a 15 minute drive from Cleveland).
But, still don't count out the Yankees yer, last year the indians beat them 22-0 in New York.
It IS a great feeling knowing that we can still kick their butts though!

what's this? could it be? yup. 2 games ahead in the east. without sheffield. without matsui. without cano. without pavano. all of whom should be back in time for september.
yep, the poor yanks never had a chance this year, did they?

Posted: 8/7/06 at 3:20pmWell you didn't have to note Pavano but all is right with the world. The poor New York Times which runs front page photos of Red Sox wins surprisingly didn't have a front page photo of Greg Norton's walkoff against the Sox yesterday.

My Dad got discharged from Presbyterian an hour before the first game on Friday. The day before we watched them get creamed by the O's.
Dad and the Yankees are feeling much better.
