So, I've been a fan of Newsies for YEARS now. I was just wondering if anyone loved it and would care to discuss!

*tips hat* Nice ta meet ya!
Newsies came out in 1992, I think? Christian Bale's second movie?
Newsies was a musical, for those who don't know. It was about newsboys' strike of 1899. It wasn't very popular, but I believe it has a cult following
Well, coming from the POV of a teenage girl.. I truely understand! LOL

Newsies is amazing! I feel deprived that the first time I saw it was about a year ago!
Many people here have mentioned they would like to see it on broadway, what do you think?

Hehe, I saw it 5 years ago in my 4th grade music class. :)
Actually, Newsies was supposed to be this dramatic play, but they turned it into a musical movie... which, in my opinion, was a better choice, regardless of the reviews it got in 1992.
I would LOVE to see it on b'way, my friends and I were in a local theater production, but it wouldn't be the same.

Posted: 9/25/04 at 9:42pmI saw it in theaters when it opened in 1992. My mom always says that she checked me in the middle because she thought I was asleep but in reality I was so riveted that I just couldn't move, I was staring so hard.

I have loved this movie forever. Growing up, I think every girl had their ONE favorite Newsie. Mine was Spot Collins.
I was just thinking the other day I wish Disney would put this on Broadway. It probably wouldn't be that big of a hit, but I'd go see it!

Yeah, I agree with you. Newsies wouldn't be a smash hit, but I'd just go to see the cast.
I flip-flop between Spot Conlon and Skittery as my favorites.

That's actually a very common mistake- Trey Parker- part of South Park duo and Trey Mckay Parker- Kid Blink.
Trey M. Parker was in some boy band... I don't know the name..
And Sarah? She was.. ehh.. not my favorite character.

oh gosh! Spot!!! "HAVE NO FEAR! BROOKLYNS HERE!" haha.
Only cute with his hat on though. Kid Blink and Mush (our own aaron lohr!) are also great!

I'm a HUGE Newsie fan! I'm full of useless Newsie knowledge.

Posted: 9/26/04 at 12:00amOnly cute with his hat on? Absolutely not. He was 10 times better looking when he had his hat off, as per the scene when he leads the Brooklyn newsies in and his hat comes off. Total Gabriel Damon hotness.

Gabriel in the behind-the-scenes part of my DvD= priceless hottness.
Did you know he's the voice of Little-foot in THE LAND BEFORE TIME?
