"Don't all 20 years olds, who take reasonable care of themselves, look like that?"
I was going to say...most of the guys on my block look like that. Mainly cause they stay very active no matter. The skateboard, surf, workout, etc...it's all about looking hot with your shirt off and staying healthy!
What I want to say is not appropriate for BWW. Holy fvckb@lls.

Liza...I don't think it is creepy for a 43 yr old to lust after a 20 yr old. Creepy is when a 43 yr old lusts after a minor. In 'our' heads we are all young, immortal and flawless. However, the creepy factor does play into the equation of the 43 yr old when senility 'creeps' (excuse the pun) into the head of the 43 yr old that they have a 'chance' OR worse yet when they start to make the moves in person and drop vocal innuendos for the 20 yr old to hear. Yes, you know what I mean cause we all have seen the "eewww" face when the 20 yr old realizes that they are actually being hit on by the 'old man'. (btw for the record - I'm 41 and think he is adorable and handsome. Dame...bring out the Saltines. Let's feed him crackers together in bed! HA)

Reasonable care is no gut and height and weight in proportion. You have to go the extra mile to get that visible hip bone thing he has.

Although very unfortunate that he has Diabetes...it does 'help' to get that visible hip bone. Alcohol and sweets create the 'muffin top' hips which he doesn't have cause he should not be ingesting those things.

Brian, good point. A lot of it has to do with the individual's perception and their own circumstances - such as past experience, personal taste, current age, etc.
I just wonder how the societal norms to deem older men lusting after younger men AND women have become so negative and engraved into our lives, yet it's novel or almost 'comical' when older women lust younger partners. What gives?!
Liarsheadband, as a 43 year old, you could be his Mom. thats what makes it creepy.

LOL. Sir Robin, are you seeing a butta face and all bod? Or are you seeing the entire 'package'? The online comments are all over the place. I don't get the criticism.

Double standard, Liza.
The pendulum swings both ways.

I was the captain of my swim team, ate the right foods, and never came close to looking like that.
He looks great. I'm not exactly lusting after him, but he'd be nice to admire if he was a stripper or go go boy.
At what point does the lustful desire of a 20-year-old become 'creepy'?
I think it depends on the object of desire and whether you find them attractive or not. Any 20 year-old who looks like this I would probably consider insanely hot whether I am 20 or 80. But it's not like I'm attracted to them because they are 20 years old.
i find it creepy and disgusting when anyone who was already out of HS when i was born tries to catch a rap

Agreed, Mister Matt. Finding someone objectively attractive has nothing to do with being creepy. And I think that works in both directions: an 18-year-old might well find a 50-year-old attractive, but that doesn't mean they should date (and it doesn't mean either of them necessarily wants to).

I think that's an interesting, but imprecise, view of how things work. Generally, yes, older woman going after younger man often seems comical or worthy of derision, but the amount of older men with much younger wives and girlfriends seems to transcend the negativity you speak of. Yes, there's the trope of the dirty old man, but generally, when a man marries or is involved with a woman ten or more years younger, it's treated as a non-event. When a woman is with a man even slightly younger than her it's often treated as a complete upending of what everyone knows to be true.
i think its got a lot to do with Women being Moms, and mothering. so when a 40 year old women who is a Mom is lusting over a 20 year old its like she is lusting over her own son. very very creepy.
And a 50 year old man with a woman who is the same age as his daughter isn't the same thing?
On a side note, I had a few great dates with an older man when I was 20. I found out that he had a son that was a year older than me. I found it creepy and I never spoke to him again.

Exactly! I say screw who you wanna screw. There will always be someone to moralize about something that's none of their business, but if you're happy, that's all that matters.

JUNGLE, that is way creepy tooo. i said just that earlier. i hostess at a restaurant a few nights a week, and i get hit on constantly by older usually married guys. It. Makes. My. Skin. Crawl.
Agreed, Phyllis. People who plug in the (presumed) ages and run it through some mental calculator to decide how they feel about other people's relationships are the ones I find creepy.
Assuming they're adults, let 'em work it out--or not--as they see fit.

I have never really had a type. When I was younger, I tended towards older partners. Now that I'm older, I find that the ones most interested in me are younger.
