Jane, I am so glad you gave that student a hug. That story brought a tear to my eye and I am sure it will be on my mind for the next few days.
This is just awful. And scary. I hope the parents get this overturned.

There was much, too much physical contact. Students were making out like crazy in the hallways during passing time, actual copulation was going on in the stairwells during classes and in class girls were being groped continually--sometimes by other girls.
Sounds like typical teenage behavior over the past four decades, at the least.

uncageg-you should have seen this little girl. If anyone needed a hug just from seeing her, she did. She was a very very frail, thin, quiet girl. Her straggily hair looked like it hadn't been groomed in some time. And she had those wide sad eyes that told the whole story.
This rule was so ridiculous- the teachers' aides who help with the kindergarten children with their clothing when they used the bathroom, now had to do it in the hallway, where everyone can see that they weren't touching the kids the wrong way.
