It's also difficult to say if someone 'quit' Broadway because that's a little impossible to do. You either do shows or you don't. There's no real quitting involved.

You know, when I see a whole bunch of people attacking someone for a seemingly innocent question, I usually assume there's a backstory to the situation that I don't know about. And then I investigate it (like searching their post history) before accusing everyone else of being "redicioulous."
