Leading up to the release of Stranger Things season 5, I noticed a trend re: Noah “Will Byers” Schnapp. For every dozen positive/neutral posts, two or three would call him something horrible names, “baby killer”, “genocide supporter”, “fascist”, “Zionist”, etc. None of that squared with my impressions of him, so I was curious what was going on?

I went down the rabbit hole, and found this Tumblr post - with all the receipts. It all clicked. Whether you’re a fan of Noah and/or Stranger Things or not isn’t the point - this is about how swiftly online discourse can twist reality into total misrepresentation very quickly. Genuinely disturbing in parts, but worth reading in 2026.

He addresed this in early 2024. The "controversy" seems to have long since gone away.

He did address it, and I wish that were the case. On Threads just the other week, thousands of people shared a fake quote from him comparing ICE to Hamas. Maybe things flared up just because his name was trending again, Idk.

Well, it's social media! I read it in mainstream media. Whenever someone tells me they read something on a social media site I immediately do a search for mainstream media. Sounds like someone or some people are just trying to bring this back up.

It doesn't matter anyway, Stranger Things is over and his career prospects appear bleak. He is such a non-entity that getting into an argument for or against him is pointless.

His career prospects are entirely beside the point. But since you brought it up, his performance and character gave him a massive boost. He's more famous than ever - which I guess explains why the backlash came back so hard.

You evidently haven't been paying attention to what he has been doing in his personal life. I suspect he has put acting on hold for a bit. And good for him for what he is doing. Sounds like you are reading a crystal ball suggesting his "career prospects seem bleak". There are more careers than acting. Maybe do a search to see what he is up to before predicting things.

You're right, he's in the Ghost Kitchen business... again, doing nothing that anybody actually cares about.

This last season of Stranger Things held exactly zero interest. People spent more time dunking on it than anything else. Nobody cares about Noah Schnapp, they just do not.

And he could probably care less. He is doing his own thing. But it seems like you care, to some degree, as you are here commenting and replying to comments. Or, you personally just don't like him. But you don't speak for the rest of us who do. JMO

26 million+ followers and an untold number of haters = nobody. Okay lol. If that’s the case, then what exactly are you doing in a topic with his name on it? Bye.
