Not a stalker....

In response to my "Looking for a friend" message, "could be a stalker" replies. Please belive me, I truely am a long time friend of Michael Sanders. We really did go to school together. I have exhausted every avenue I could think of to locate him. He doesn't talk to his dad and I don't know how to reach his mom. I am a wife and work-at-home mother of a 6 month old and 17 year old. I don't have time to or any wish to be a stalker! If anyone can give me any ideas for looking for my friend please contact me.....

re: Not a stalker....

Maybe it's just me but a 17 year old kid and a 6 month old? A little odd? I presume they are from different marriages but never-the-less...

Ok- maybe thats over-anaylizing on my part...sorry.

Anything could happen these days...

re: Not a stalker....

No, crazy I am. Wife and mother, etc...makes you even more crazy. Just not "stalker" mentality. Thanks for the tip.

Odd....but not a stalker

Yes, odd to have a daughter 17 years older than my son. Not so unusual. Yes, different marriages. #1/7yrs. #2/11 yrs & hopefully forever. We've tried for 11 years, losing one 6 years ago. Finally, a beautiful boy.

Over analyzing is one of my hobbies....

Odd....but not a stalker

Let me guess, the seventeen year old looks EXACTLY like Michael Sanders?

I could book you on Maury if you want to do this in public.

Maury

No thanks, think I'll pass. Not a "Maury guest" mentality either. I'm not a stalker, not "lookin' for my bebe's daddy", and I don't want to be on Maury. My search continues.....

Maury

Thanks...I thought it was just me who thought they were just a bit harsh. I don't mind my messages being someone's amusement if it does actually lead me to finding my friend.

Why is it so unusual to look for information about a performer on the message board of a theatre-oriented web-site?
#15

Maury

That's what I thought....Theatre oriented web-site, theatre oriented crowd....hmmmm, maybe they could help me find my friend. Hoping someone will recognize what info about him I have posted. Have posted several messages in reference. "Looking for a friend", "Not a stalker", "Registry". Are there any other sites that I might also try? Would be even better if he himself saw one of the messages.
#16

Maury

I would be very careful giving anyone a performer's information. I know I would not want someone to give you mine without asking me. I think listing an agent or offering to send a message along is fine, but I'd never give out a phone number to anyone I'm friendly with.

again.

"but I'd never give out a phone number to anyone I'm friendly with."

but I'd never give out a phone number to anyone I'm friendly with, again.

I don't think I have given any personal information. I am sometimes naive, but not totally stupid....Unless he has expanded his resume (which he very well may have), he is not a performer. And, if I had a current phone #, not only would I not be giving it out, but I would not need to be looking for him.

Maury

I posted that to explain why people might not be helping. You may be (and most likely are) an old friend and he might be thrilled to hear from you. But I wouldn't feel comfortable just giving out a phone number of someone whom I know to someone I don't. If that makes any sense.

LOOKING FOR A FRIEND.....

Totally makes sense. I have been looking for so long. Days and months just go by into years. He used to send me postcards and letters while on tour or traveling. He kept me up to date on what shows he worked and who he was working with.
Faye Dunaway, Linda Eders, Sheri O'teri, Bea Arthur. "Showboat", "Phantom", "Miss Siagon", "Jekyl & Hyde", "Les Mis", Masterclass". Then I sent his usual B'day card and it was sent back. Now I just keep wondering if he is o.k. I guess I'm hoping someone knows him and lets him know I'm looking. Or, he happens upon my messages himself.

LOOKING FOR A FRIEND.....

Have you posted on the main board?

LOOKING FOR A FRIEND.....

No. I was not sure exactly where to post. Also, not totally sure exactly how to use all options of boards. I thought some have certain content & use rules? So I choose the off-topic board first. What do the little different color envelope icons in front of messages mean? Have been considering posting messages on all boards. Are there other sites you might recommend, too?
#23

LOOKING FOR A FRIEND.....

Well, you may have better luck on the main board since you're looking for a Broadway person and there's a much larger volume of people who view that board and not this one. If you focus on what show your friend was doing or might be doing now, and less on just wanting to get in touch with him, it's technically on-topic, right?

I can't think of any other sites. Google didn't pull up anything. Did you run his name through IBDB? I don't know what else to suggest, but hopefully you may understand why people who may know him or what he's doing may be leery about giving you specifics.

LOOKING FOR A FRIEND.....

And sometimes people just don't want to be located and for whatever reason distance themself from their past.
