What is it with mothers and their daughter's weight? I have so many friends who look great who have major issues with their mothers criticizing their weight.

Margo, every time I go in and buy a new big container of protein shake the peoples make fun of me because I can't gain any weight :P I'm not so tall though, so it should hopefully take less than a year!

Geez, you're not THAT short. You make it sound like you have to lift the shake container over your head to get it onto the counter

One friend of mine (who is 5'8") was so desperate to gain weight that he started eating frosting out of the can and microwaving containers of Haagen-Daaz so he could drink them like milkshakes. At the end of a year of this, he ended up lactose intolerant and only gained two pounds.

if you're keeping yourself healthy and still losing weight, then, you maybe need to lay off the cardio or something. you may be putting out too much fuel.

some people are naturally bigger or smaller than others.

if you think that eating "unhealthy" foods is like, having one cookie every two days or something, then, that's a whole other topic entirely.

I am slightly underweight for my height due to a spinal cord accident almost 20 years ago that involves my muscles - hard to explain

People ( like my wife ) hate me because I can eat what I want & not only not gain weight but have a cholestoral # of 169

I'm not even so bad for myself. I'm 5'3 and weigh about 110 lbs. I know I'm not a stick, but I know what I look like and I don't need her pointing it out.

Oh Christ, 5'3 and 110 lbs? My mother would buy me a new wardrobe if I was 110 lbs.

They're just never happy. I don't even buy the excuse that they mean well and are just looking out for us.

Yeaaah, it's sort of a lost cause when you're the same weight as your mother. (Though it is nice to just grab stuff out of her closet for mock trial comeptitions.)

i feel like you do. i eat all day and cant gain weight. i want to buy normal pants not children's pants :P
it's beacuse there's not alot i can eat and the stuff i can eat is all healthy natural stuff.

I have a friend whose very underweight. She's 15 but looks like she's 9. I get mad at her whenever she orders whole wheat bread because it's healthier or starts looking at the nutrition facts and tells me "everyone needs to worry about it". I know it's not *my* problem, it just bothers me so much.

No, she's not like that. She just can't gain weight. She looks like she's 9. I don't think she's hit puberty yet.
