Anyone else?
I couldn't have taken it if they both lost.

Starting here, starting now,
Honey, everything's coming up roses!
Dammit, PalJoey, I just got home and was catching up! I thought I was safe to come on off topic board if I stayed out of the Tony thread. DAMN YOU!
Okay, I am over it. lol That's what I get for stalking the red carpet and not watching with the rest of the world. At least now I don't have to deny that there is a God. Patti won.
LOL!!!! Yes, I agree, Mr. Pal Joey.
Glad SOMETHING is going right... (and left will be right in november)
But PJ, a big question still needs to be answered - Hillary or Patti, who gives a better speech?

Can't say for certain - but obviously, neither one knows when to shut up and get off the stage.

it makes me feel better about everything, too.

LOL. I love 'em both, but truer words...
I think you meant "bitchier words"...

Faith Prince has not (and will not) concede the election to Patti. "There are still ballots unmailed, voes yet to be counted. Until we count every vote, we can not have a winner." Wise words, Faith. "I've had so many women come up to me, young women who are voting for the Tonys for the first time, telling me 'you've got to fight for me.' And I will. Until every vote is counted."
Stick with it Faith! Patti? No, she cant'!
I'm ready to concede gracefully and completely get behind Obama playing Rose.

There was a "Hillary glint" in Patti's eyes as she performed last night.

I don't know if Michelle can sing.

So, did this represent what she's like in the role?
Video clip.
DG--you'll never know what Patti was like in the role.
And it's your loss.
Here's her speech from the thank-you cam--sort of a repeat of her acceptance speech, but at the end, she elaborates on thanking Rose Hovick, and manages to mention all the other Roses—-including Bernadette and Betty.

Patti, You think just because you won another Tony you can get a new hairdo and some expensive clothes and turn yourself into a lady. But you can't, because you'll never be anything but a common frump whose father lived over a grocery store and whose mother took in washing.
Musical version of Mommie Dearest maybe?
Or is that what Gypsy was?

I'm not being mean- I'd LOVE to see her do the long promised musical of Whatever Happened to Baby Jane. Put her opposite Bernadette Peters and it would run for YEARS!
