Posted: 10/16/07 at 1:11pmUnfortunately, Febreez does not work on this odor from hell.
#13re: OMG, the odor!
Posted: 10/16/07 at 1:13pmThrow away EVERYTHING and replace it. If Febreeze doesn't work nothing will.

Posted: 10/16/07 at 1:17pmIt's the carpets. These people have had this dog for a while and I think he peed in a few places and it was never cleaned up. There is a particular room where the smell is the worst and it was an empty room.

Posted: 10/16/07 at 1:18pmTo help get the smell out, I put in a Febreez plug in and sprayed the whole room down with Febreez. Still smells like death rolled in sh!t

Posted: 10/16/07 at 1:27pmIf its in the carpet your hosed.. Its seeped into the padding and through.. I doubt you will be able to get it out at this point.. Short of replacing the carpet that is...

Posted: 10/16/07 at 1:33pmWait, as far as the carpet goes have you tried steaming the carpet? That what we do, but I don't know how well it would work for dog odor that has been there a while.

I can't speak for dogs but I can tell you that NONE of those products worked for me on cat urine. I found out that the urine had soaked through the carpet, the padding underneath, and the floorboards under that. The only way of removing it was to get rid of the carpet and padding and sand the floor. I was told by a shelter owner that the odds of getting it all even then were rather low.
I've heard that some of those products (like Nature's Miracle) will kill the enzymes in the urine that create the odor. It just never worked for me.
